Bear, I agree with both points but with Franny and some of the poor sportsmans that play there, Iowa takes for me in basketball.

Meh, always remember that their last shared B10 regular season title was in 1979 (i.e., 43 years ago) and their last outright B10 title was 52 years ago. No need for hatred, just laugh at them.

BW3? They expanded into a space that was a coffee shop in 2009.
I thought Murphy's expanded twice. Can someone who has lived in town since the mid-80s give an accurate update on the times and which space they took over? I remember Murphys being long, thin, and with no downstairs. At some point, they widened a little and added a small downstairs with a few arcade games. I thought there was a later expansion into the current space.

I'll miss Zorbas. Double Dipski, who shared space with them when they first opened, was also good. Those ice cream sandwiches were large enough to be a meal on their own (Two 6" chocolate chip cookies, with .75" of ice cream between them.)

The pound basket of fries from Tritos (vs. Trenos) were a great late night study snack.

As a former b-dubs employee circa 1998 I can confirm the original BW-3 on green st closed due to the most fantastic, glutinous mismanagement I’ve ever seen and Murphy’s bought the space and expanded into it.

I was proud to have participated in said mismanagement….as are my friends.
Hmm.. Could there have been there more than one expansion? This DI article references the 2009 expansion I was talking about. https://dailyillini.com/uncategorized/2011/09/28/graffiti-walks-line-between-art-and-vandalism/

Lots of nuggets about eating establishments of days gone past..........scUM admissions suck and the best is the "" Huntie "" baby going off on the Texas Tech coach calling him a coward..........Nice choice of words considering Huntie plays for the biggest coward in college sports........Ducks conference games and sucker slaps other coaches........look in the mirror Huntie baby............you're a big pile of cow dung in a place where cow dung seeps out of the rafters......

Other than that , just another day at the Loyalty board , which is the best ever !!!
Let me say you might have started a pretty catchy slogan here:
Howard the Coward! Lets get this train rollin!

My favorite place to get $1.25 23oz drafts as a freshman that year.

34 pages in one day in the basketball recruiting thread? Peak Loyalty madness! Just for confirmation, though...is it Pete Nance everyone is hoping to get?
I keep wondering what Bielema thinks of all this. He has to be cognizant of the rabid basketball following. (To his credit, I feel like he's really working to grab some headlines for the football squad.)

Welp, I woke up before dawn to spend 6 hours of simulator training today.......thinking engine fires, flap failures, bird strikes, rapid cabin depressurization, and emergency evacuations onto the runway...would be the most exciting things I saw today.

Understated summary of the day: the plane has not flown into the &$^^@*! mountain! In fact, it has basically achieved escape velocity and we're all presently in zero G.

My dad (RIP) would have turned 98 today. I'd like to think that had something to do with how off-the-hook this afternoon was. :)

I do not see an issue here. Why would Tech allow summer school to a guy who is transferring? If he is in the portal, he is not at tech anymore. Its Hunter being a typical scUM loser
I agree wholeheartedly...makes no sense to blame TT.

If I was a mich fan I would be up and arms over admissions and having to even talk about summer school as a pre-req for a michigan transfer

Hunter blaming texas tech for not giving Terance a free bonus summer semester to enable a transfer, seems ridiculous...the argument should be with their own admissions office.

I was JUST too young to really remember the 2001-02 Sugar Bowl, but from seeing video and photos of the game … for it being in LSU’s backyard, there were still a LOT of Illini fans there:

Illini football fans are there, and there are WAY more of them than our rival fan bases - and even some of our own, self-hating fans 😉 - think. We just need something to cheer for to get invested again!
I was there, waaaaay at the 🔝

Being on bourbon Street was a blast despite all the drunk LSU fans chanting “tiger bait” in your face every block

It's a terrible attitude is what it is. Just reflective of this new attitude of college sports apparently. I guess its just being "too outdated" to have loyalty to your players anymore? Its actually kind of pathetic and one more sign that this new era of college sports is headed in the wrong direction..

Anyways, I for one assume its going to be Lieb. He might have had some hope that the center ranks were going to be thin enough for him to get a bit more time. He may now know otherwise and wants to go play more.

As for Hawkins. I don't know why there is this assumption that Nance would even be an upgrade. Nance got a ton more minutes, took a lot more shots, and actually had plays run through him. Hawkins didn't have any of that last year. Its a pretty big gamble to say Hawkins upside doesn't pass Nance up sooner than later. I also did not watch a lot of Northwestern basketball but many of the times I did watch Nance seemed to be out of the game at crucial times. Not sure if that was common or I happened to catch it on those times. Even better idea than having to choose is they play together. Dainja off the bench wouldn't ruffle any feathers and puts two versatile upperclass big men on the floor to start. Seems like an easy sell
Probably because so far in both there careers Nance been proven for at least full seasonal least where as Coleman shown glimpses such as the first round of the ncaa game but how'd he fair against a more talented and athletic team in Houston so bad he didn't even play in the second half did he?I'm do agree he has talent and shown flashes but are you willing to take a step back this season just can't wait put the work in for possibly one more year to be the possibly guy?cause it's not like he's a guaranteed lock to be a top player in the big or even possibly even have the success that nace has already proven to have had in the big with a generally bad northwestern that wasn't nearly as talented as our beloved will have next season but that is just my take sir
