No kidding! Are you supposed to just have one guy at a position? You get 13 scholarships because you need depth. Players get injured.

As of now we have two legitimate players at PF/C and one of them has barely played in two years. A coach would have to be insane to not bring in at least one more guy up front (we really need two).
No, but evidently some posters think you can only bring in guys who aren’t as good as the guys we have so they don’t feel disrespected or be concerned with earning their playing time.

I’m not as high on Hawkins as many are, but I’d like to see him stay. And if he feels that BU bringing in talent at his position is disrespecting him, I don’t blame him if he leaves. That said BU and staff are trying to put the best team on the floor that they can. and I’d be pissed if the weren’t doing that. Posters comment about whether BU and staff/Illinois are ready for big boy recruiting. Maybe they should wonder if the players on the team are ready for it.

One final thing. Some people keep saying three years of Hawkins is more valuable than one year of Nance. What makes them think that Hawkins will be here for 3 years? And is not bringing in players that will compete with Hawkins and add quality depth for the next 3 years worth it just so Hawkins will stay this year and the following two?

What do we get if we get to 1,000? Maybe a 45% 3-point shooter? Or a steady, veteran PG? Or are we just talking about a Schwinn Fastback bicycle and lots of other prizes?

A milestone...
A milestone? A milestone? A milestone can’t help the Illini win games next year. And I certainly can’t ride it around the neighborhood popping wheelies and making death-defying jumps with plywood ramps.

Oh well, take what you can get I guess.

I don't understand why CoHawk would want to leave, hopefully it's just conjecture on the boards part. He is a huge part of the future of this team with or without Nance. His versatility alone sets him up for play time
Conjecture is all it is at this point — both him leaving if Nance comes on as well as Nance even coming on. I think if it is just Nance being added, it doesn’t make a lot of sense for him to leave. Now if they add another big in addition to Nance, then who knows.

I don't understand why some keep asking about Ramey and Bates...but I don't believe Cohawk leaves...

With Nance, CoHawk might not start, but there’s still 20+ minutes/game with his name on it.

Would love to see him stick, but we’ll be just fine if he goes.
Would expect Hawk and Nance to start early with Dain coming off the bench. By March it could different but the three would share the minutes depending on fouls, matchups, etc.

Has anybody mentioned Keion Brooks?
