I was definitely being facetious. Not pursuing any player we thought had significant potential to lead the Illini to B1G & national championships based on a short run of recruiting success would be the very definition of naivety, "putting the cart before the horse", "counting your chicks before they're hatched", "resting on your laurels", etc, etc, or whatever other outdated proverbial phrases that you'd want to use. Based on his multi-tiered plans not only for recruiting but also for the entire program, I don't think Brad Underwood is the type of person to become complacent and "rest on his laurels" because of a little success (I think the same of Josh Whitman).
