But why settle for sharks, pray tell?Illini coaches when they walk into a gym to evaluate players
No, not better. Just a bit different. I definitely want them both. FWIW, Schwarnowski's offers seem to be mostly mid-major.You like Burks more than Scharnowski? Blasphemy!
He is looking to reclassify to 2022, UNC has no open scholarshipsNance has one year of eligibilty , correct ?
why would a 2023 hs grad decommit due to a player who wont be there then ?
More transfer portal maddness...#1 overall recruit (to UNC) looks set to decommit (thanks to their pickup of Nance):
UNC Basketball Recruiting: Is GG Jackson set to decommit?
The most recent GG Jackson intel does not favor the UNC basketball program, as the No. 1 overall prospect in the Class of 2023 may be heading elsewhere.keepingitheel.com
We didn't offer him and he seems bound to his first choice, South Carolina, if headline fails Betteridge's Law ("If it's a question, the answer is 'No!'")...
...still, fun to dream, and it has me thinking...when, if ever, has U of I ever had the #1 overall recruit?

Knee injury for McBride. He never regained his bounce.Back in 80s, most publications had Marcus Liberty #1 coming out of H.S.
One publication (Strret & Smiths) had Lowell Hamilton #1 after his JR year of HS. But he dropped quite a bit during his SR year to not even being the top rated player in IL (Ed Horton was).
Another interesting one - Rich McBride was at one time rated the #2 HS Freshman in the country, only behind Lebron James. But he dropped a lot by the team he was a HS Senior.
Mcbride was physically solid for his age and could shoot with range. As others caught up he continued to fall further. He was #3 as a sophomore, around #25-30 as a junior then around #75 as a senior. I'm not sure if the injury claims have been exaggerated or just plateuing.Knee injury for McBride. He never regained his bounce.
I never seen me a flicker show.
I had no idea he hurt his knee. ACL?Knee injury for McBride. He never regained his bounce.
I don't recall that it was ever specified as a ACL. Back in those days, living many hours away we were blessed to here any news on players. We got our information off the press. A hurt knee was all I have ever heard.I had no idea he hurt his knee. ACL?
