I want Jeremiah Fears so bad.
Any insider info on him?

I would assume our chances won't be great after his brother's recruitment. I think a lot will also be determined by how Jeremy's time at MSU goes

My guess as well. How things look now probably matters little compared to what he hears from his brother as his career unfolds there. Think of someone like Acewolf after he committed vs a year later -- a lot can change. Fortunately, I think the staff is outstanding at keeping a lot of hooks in the water and reacting to changing circumstances.

CAMERON CHRISTIE, TO NO SURPRISE, IS BLOOMING LATE

Cameron Christie, the younger brother of Max Christie, has had 'late-bloomer' written all over him for the last two years and to no surprise, he is starting to bloom late and turn the corner from prospect to player entering his senior season.

He's grown another inch and has really improved his ball skills as well as an athlete.

He's long been a skilled and high IQ guard and now he's piecing each area of his game together and making for a more intriguing high major prospect.

Christie's best basketball is still ahead of him and coaches have taken notice with more schools entering the fold lately but more to come on that later.

went off the grid and went camping this weekend so had to play catch-up on the recruiting thread hoopla. Couple of things, when did the narrative change from expecting Brown and Nojus to be goners? Furthermore, if Brad is sitting in on their games you have to believe he knows we’ll get at least one and I like to think he has the intuition to think we can snag both. Hence, why he is sitting in on all of the Mean Streets games.

The second piece is related to Fears, sure the dude is racking them up in the FIBS U17 championship, but if his handlers spooked Brad and Co then I’m not losing sleep over this one. The staff has earned the benefit of the doubt to find studs in the backcourt.

Let Brad and the ACs build

I never heard your so-called narrative on those guys. Always thought we were in the mix.

It def popped up in the last thread w/ people speculating that it was hard:impossible to get 2, much less 3 dudes from the same high school.

That said, it seemed like pure speculation and is countered by the fact that Nojus just transferred specifically to play with those dudes.

While I agree BU and staff watching those games certainly has to help with those two, he’d probably be at at least some of those games anyway making nice with Morez and keeping that verbal.

Nojus and Brown keep rising stock and are garnering more attention from top programs... therefore what people were saying is it would be hard to keep them from going to a Duke or UNC etc.
However, I'm in the (uninformed) opinion that these kids would love the chance to ball together on the same college team too. Built in chemistry.

Also, Brad and Co. passed on JEREMY fears. Jeremiah is lighting it up and I'm not sure how the staff feels about him.

Correct me if I'm wrong tho.

Agreed on the top section, and you are correct about Jeremiah lighting it up. However, Jeremy had 35 points in the semis and finals of the U17 FIBA championship against pretty good competition. With that said, I don't think it's out of the question we can reestablish a relationship with the Fears if we want in on Jeremiah, Class of 2025 is a long ways away.

Obviously want to make presence/build relationships and express early interest but I would be shocked if a 2025 kid is already making or indicating "leans" Let it play out....

If the insinuation is that there was a circus around his brother, we might not want to re-establish that relationship.

Especially if the younger brother is better, the circus might be that much more crazy.

ATM we’re recruiting at a level that doesn’t require us to wade into treacherous waters. Should that change, then we can re-evaluate.

The stuff I read didn't indicate any sort of circus around the kid, just that the staff did not want him as much as they wanted Boswell, so they passed.

"Here are five players I fell in love with this weekend who I’d be targeting if I were a college coach, because they all impact winning and should have longer stays on campus:

Amani Hansberry, Team Durant: One thing I didn’t see a ton of this past weekend was gifted back-to-the-basket scorers. The most talented players with height are all gravitating to the outside, but there’s still a place for low-post scorers in college basketball and they can be super valuable to a college program. That’s why I’d be chasing Hansberrry if I was a college coach. The 6-8 power forward put on a clinic in the post. It was almost like watching Georges Niang in his Iowa State days. He can score over either shoulder with both hands and gets his hooks off the glass quickly, throwing off the timing of longer defenders who probably think they will be able to block his shot. He gets the ball in his spots too, knowing when to duck in. He buries defenders behind him and has great hands, so his teammates have confidence he’s going to catch it when they throw it. He also flashed the ability to find cutters from the low post. He just has great feel. You can run offense through him in the middle of the floor as well with him getting the ball to guards in dribble-hand offs or working a two-man game in pick and pops. He’s money from the midrange with a high-arcing jumper.

Give me all the Hansberry stock. I already know he’s going to be one of my favorite college players to watch someday. Penn State is considered the favorite to land Hansberry and has been recruiting him for a long time but might have some competition with Illinois also recruiting him hard."
