You can do a lot better at center. Both Brian Cook and Deon Thomas should be ahead Mr. Winters, and far ahead of Holcomb.
There were so many many to choose from, it slipped my mind about Cook, although, I was thinking about how they all would interact. Hence the reason no Kofi, he needs the rock too much. I tried to take out the Alpha males who we centered around and who got what they got when they had to, forced to, needed them to, but could also just be important on the floor at all times. Wasn't the best of, but who could I put in a historical NCAA tournament and win. My math degree leads me down odd paths.

My thoughts on Perrin. Fluid big with solid fundamentals (passing, dribbling, pick setting). Will fit into as a 4 the best or teaming up with another physical 4, but can likely play with a true big.

Will fit role in a position less team, to guard 3-5. But not an uber athlete, needs to work on lateral quickness. Also not a shot block or leaper, but has length.

Shooting form and touch is solid but not consistent or a threat from the 3 or midrange. Scores mainly on dunks, putbacks abd layups. Believe he has great potential to develop outside game as form and touch are there.

Several didn't like my Channing Frye comparison due to Frye being a former McAA and NBA player. Was making the comparison more on style, build and athleticism. I do think he is further ahead of Coleman coming out of high school. Also think he will be OK against better teams in bigger games.

Today played against LItuania and a true center and a good PF. He wasn't going to out physical these two but had 3 dunks in the game all in second half. Most impressive play was him dribbling from half court and slamming while a defender was chasing him down. The kind of play Augustine would make, but haven't seen many of our bigs make over the years. Possibly Augustine might be the better comparison on ranking or level of play, although think Perrin is slightly bigger. But seems to have that level of competitveness as Augie. Also think Perrin will eventually be an outside threat. Fletch I believe will work on Perrin's overall strength, quick twitch muscles/explosiveness/quickness and coordination. Great prospect IMHO.

Doesn't he get a new round of 5 starting next August1. That's assuming he doesn't commit before then.

Yes. His first 5 OVs will be Mizzou, Duke, UNC, MSU, and Illinois ...

I have heard he plans on visiting OSU, Michigan, IU, and Notre Dame as well. Think those will all be unofficial and who knows if he even gets to all of them

Everyone I talk to thinks it'll come down to Duke, UNC, MSU, and Illinois ...

Just a few years ago I would have thought that this is list we couldn't possibly compete against in recruiting. If our name was on the list it seemed more out of courtesy than of true interest. Nice feeling having a legitimate program again. And it hasn't even truly proven itself consistently on the national stage yet. But those days are coming. Hopefully Brown wants to be part of making that happen.
