I don’t think college ppg is the predictor of success you imply it is. Even setting Booker aside, Embiid is another as well as Jaylen Brown Anthony Davis, OG Anunoby and Fred VanVleet to name a few.

Yep, however for the most part all those guys including D Will could shoot it. Thats a larger issue for Hawk. I believe 9 guys from overseas were taken in the second round I recall LaTulip stating in last years draft. Most were not in mocks and most if not all can shoot. That was a huge issue last year and NBA teams need shooters too.

I don’t disagree. In fact, I would 100% agree. The OP was building a point around ppg alone which is such a flawed approach. Especially at the NBA level where teams tend to take stash away project players as opposed to established college players strictly due to age.

Devin Booker is just an anomaly. I was totally off on the guy and underestimated his athleticism and all around game. I thought he was a 3 pt specialist. Oooops.

But lot of people couldn't predict what he became. He was 13th pick. You don't expect 13th pick to be potential mvp candidates. And don't forget Frank the tank was drafted ahead of him. And he averaged over 15ppg. So there is that
