I loved DMFW but you been hitting the Pru if you would take him over his old man. Frank was a smooth criminal.
HRF is one of the top twenty players I have witnessed in all my years of watching college BB.............Frankie TOOK OVER games.....

Literally TOOK OVER games.......A lot of the time it just wasn't fair for the opponents........

He was one of those " how did he do that " type of players.......... JMHO...........

If we lose RayJ, big if imo, Brad will need some soul searching bc the fumbling of PG play since Ayo left has been awful (albeit some things have been out of his control)

I can’t think of a plan B for point guard, and I’ve always been glass half full with Brad and company

My favorite player of all time. Hence the username.

Oh geez that would be easy. I would be hollering at the TV every time Coleman launched a shot from well beyond the point line, and he'dmiss every single time. Did it not occur to BU and his staff that to tell him never to shoot those anymore? Did they actually watch film with him and say, keep launching those, CH, one is bound to go in before the end of the season?
I don't think it would really take a brain surgeon to explain that his offense wasn't working. Maybe doing a bunch of dribble hand offs that create no separation before having a bunch of guys shooting low 30s or worse launch a 3 while everyone else just stood and watched wasn't a great strategy.

oh please, you're saying Trent was a "fumbler?"

He shot 38.9% from midrange last year, 40.4% during Big Ten play (via Bartorvik). I'm not here to crap on Hawkins but we don't need to overstate his offensive abilities.

Comment was in response/reference to TSJ not Hawkins.

EDIT: Just to add, those percentages are not bad either. Mid-range jump shots are not high percentage looks, hence why we hear "force long 2's" as a defensive strategy. Mid-range shots are not the preferred selection, but players who can make them are nice to have.

For reference, mid-range % of some notable NBA players this season:

Anthony Edwards 37%
Jayson Tatum 38%
Fred VanVleet 38%
Scottie Barnes 35%
RJ Barrett 28%
Jordan Poole 39%
Paolo Banchero 39%
Klay Thompson 39%

I stopped after 1 page of data.

Oh, geez, the bad-three Coleman pablum is so overstated by the hypercritical wing of our fandom…

➡️ BU wanted him to shoot open threes (which he often passed up with an ineffective pump-fake)
➡️ A majority of the long bombs came near the end of the shot clock
➡️ Yes, a few were garbage chucks (sometimes because no one else was running any offense)

The bad-shooter Coleman narrative is more tripe than truth.

A return of CH & TJ - along with a proficient PG - translates to a B1G banner, imo.

To me that tsj post sure seems like he signing off on his time in Champaign. I hope I’m wrong though. However, it also wouldn’t really make sense to announce you’re back before the combine so who knows 🤷

Don’t overlook the possibility of going undrafted and signing with a team. If anything, that might actually be the best case scenario for his career potential.

Regardless of how people feel about TSJ or Hawkins being the best returner, TSJ gives the program the biggest wow factor and I’m sure that makes a difference in NIL. That video made my hyped.
That can definitely happen but I assume they are being somewhat optimistic right now. (Maybe Hawkins is more optimistic?)

I definitely want TSJ come back more because he is clearly a weapon on the offense end.

Getting the last visit is great.

Unfortunately scheduled last visits often don't happen.

I will say the shortness of the visits lends credence to the idea that they are just perfunctory.

That's funny because I read it as he's readying himself for one last ride in Champaign. If you're leaving college for good, post a video with all your highlights from both Tech and Illinois. If you're trying to build the hype on your return and get Illinois fans to buy more of your merch, post a video of only your time at Illinois. I guess we'll see how it plays out in a few weeks.

Mid range jump shots are so inefficient that basically nobody shoots them anymore.

Dude shot 28% from 3 and only 61% from the line last year. He needs to play to his strengths of getting to the basket and into the lane.
