There's a factor at play in these decisions that I don't believe has been covered, shockingly. While one's mind may be made-up, more or less, about staying in draft or returning to school, there are other players whose decisions can impact the projected draft order, possibly enough to tip the decision scale the other way. Waiting until the last moment is simply a way to gather all available information before committing.
Or to put it simply, if 10 guys ahead of Coleman unexpectedly return to school, he could change his mind. As an example. But there are numerous possibilities.
