Bad situation. Pedestrian died today from a car accident that happened 2 weeks ago in Iowa City. Reports are the driver was Frans son Jack. Depending on the details around the accident, legal action could come into play. Everything I have heard about Jack were he is a good kid, I feel bad for everyone involved.
Is Jack a nickname? I don't think Fran has a son with that name.

Some conflicting reports that make the situation confusing. A couple of news reports state that Jack was the pedestrian that died. Some say he was the driver. No definitive statements given by authorities on a rather tragic story that has national interest. Either way it is sad and tragic.

Imo I'm not the biggest fan of not going for Paul. They are really rolling the dice with that-They feel Ty, DGL, Sincere, TSJ, etc can play pg by committee. The passing should be improved with some of the guys we brought in, but it's all about if the pg play can be decent enough. That will be the difference this year between being just in the top 25 or a top 10-15 team in the country.

They really like Reeves, but it won't be easy to land him. Think we have a pretty decent shot though

This article states it was an Iowa National Guardsmen that was out jogging when he was hit.

I believe this is the incident.

Great memories of the Robinson gym where I scored the first basket as a fifth grader playing for the Jr. High team....a few decades prior to Meyers showing up.
Grew up in Robinson many moons ago. Know that gym well. Didn't play basketball, but had plenty of gym classes there.

And going off this, the hope is that Williams will be ready to go by the start of the year. He has three years left, so they risk anything. Think he plays a good amount though

Much like the RayJ situation there’s conflicting reports on Illini’s involvement with Reeves/Mulcahy which means people are being told different things from those camps. Never a good sign.

Horrible situation, but given the age of McCaffery and the time of day, highly unlikely alcohol was involved. We had a guy in my hometown killed after being hit by a car a decade or so ago. He was out for a jog on a country road, and at certain times of day, the glare from the sun makes it very difficult to see. Just a plain old accident, but doesn't make the consequences any less impactful.

It's the sign that Rodgers is going to get a whole lot of time at PG. Not anyone's fault, but the predictions of the PG position, going back to April, have been abysmal. I think that we're at 4 and counting guys were we getting gifs

Imo terrible move by staff to not go after Paul. Fits what we need way more than Reeves.
I'm beating a dead horse at this point, but I have no idea what the staff is doing with this roster construction. People are kind of ignoring that we have no open scholarships. Sure we will make room, but that doesn't change the fact that they put together a roster that doesn't work and needs to be fixed.

We are currently worse at the PG position than we were last year, in my opinion. If that's not the #1 concern for the staff, then they must know something I don't know.

Sounds like the staff's decision (not JW or high-level boosters). Any early idea how JW and those boosters are reacting to this? Temp on BU's seat seems to continue to rise if I'm reading the tea leaves correctly from what you and other insiders have said.
