Spoke with my Arizona insider (the same one who said Epps was likely gone several weeks before anything public came out) regarding Kriisa with regards to locker room and fit. He had the following to say:

Teammates and coaches really liked him and no known locker room issues. A player you love to hate as an opponent but a good teammate. Transferred because with the new talent coming in minutes were going to be reduced for him and he'd be more of a 6th man role. Frustratingly inconsistent- when he's on, he's straight fire. When he's off he can lose you a game. Not viewed as an NBA prospect but should have a decent future overseas. Loves and works best in a fast-paced or transition offense. If you have a team that runs the court hard and wants to get on the other end of lobs he'll work out well for you, but you will need to deal with inconsistent play.

Overall though, he thinks Kerr would be a solid addition to our team if we were to go after and get him. Take what you will of that.
Thanks for the post.

I do want to tell you in regard to the bolded that 43 people on this board said the same thing.

So some of the AZ insiders claim teammates and fans disliked him and claimed "good riddance" to him leaving and other AZ insiders say teammates and coaches really liked him with no real locker room issues. What kind of a fan base would be all over the place in regards to the same player? 🤔

The funniest part about this is the fact that:
1. He has not made any indication he will leave WVU
2. Has any interest in coming to Illinois if he does leave WVU

Obviously both those things can change, just still amusing that we're debating over someone like that.
Good point. We have this bizarre sense of entitlement that players are automatically wanting to come here to Illinois and play for Matt Foley.
Takes a certain kind of kid it seems.

This kid led the Pac 10 in assists! Seems like he'd get along very well with Shannon, Hawk & Co. And he's also a good 3-pt and FT shooter.

Hope we reach out and see if he's interested. Not sure many teams have more to offer a good PG than us. We've got an excellent roster at the 2-5 spots and a giant hole at PG.
The negative Nelson in me reads “led the PAC 10 in assists” as… was surrounded by player who could knock down open shots in a system that featured more ball movement and less ISO hero ball.

Sure seems like almost too good of a fit based on need, just trying to protect myself in the event that this was one of an illini fans wishes on a monkey paw.

True, though to be fair, he said this a couple weeks before the Underwood yelling at Epps incident some tend to point to. That said, you're not wrong in that there was smoke from several people on that front then as well. Seemed like a very poorly kept secret Epps was not enjoying his time here. In any case, as I said, take what you want out of it- I've known him a long time so I tend to believe him, but I'm also a random idiot on this forum, soooo hahaha it is what it is...

I see a lot of Krissa hate, selfish me player.. All I know is that he was a facilitating son of a !!!!! and we can kind of use of of those PG. I think Williams is fine but I worry he won't be available, way to much smoke on that side of the wall, so get Krissa for a season until Williams is good and let's roll. I think TJ and Coleman learned a lot from a leadership aspect and will keep any clown behavior in check.

Actually no one has said that his teammates didn’t like him, they said fans didn’t.

Don't say any of this to the majority on here. They will tell you he must be a bad teammate because he gets animated on the court and riles up opposing fans....
I have no insight into his locker room behavior. I do find it curious that he doesn't only rile up opposing fans, but a sizable chunk of his own fans as well.

Arizona has a basketball program and fandom that is broadly similar to ours. If we had a championship under our belt, you wouldn't even be able to tell the programs apart.

Given our need at PG and what Kerr brings to the table, he'd have to be a serial killer for us to not take a serious look (assuming he'd be interested of course)

Yes, that was kind of my point.

Yeah, I think they’re a pretty good comparison in a lot of ways.

Lute had like 23 tourney appearances in a row or something though. But I overall I agree.

Other than all of their success has been in the last 35 years where our program has had success at multiple different times in history. Their success was under one coach

I don't know why I have a different vibe from KK vs. PM.

Unless an Insider comes in and says we simply can't go into this season with Ty & Co. as "PG's"....then I say pass.

I say I will go with what BU thinks and feels is best. I think its very obvious he likes his paycheck and wants to make the right choice this time around. If it's a legit opportunity for a quality PG I would expect him to certainly kick the tires.
