Butler looks great here. Under control, at his own tempo with the ball, eyes up all the time... If that's the type of player he is, I'd take him no matter who else signs.

averages 4 steals per game. lights out shooter, great frame. his HS has only 400 kids. his exposure hasn't been great. under the radar, for sure. the more I see and learn, the more I like. some will undoubtedly scoff, but he kinda reminds me of Gill, in the sense that they were both pretty unheralded, same height. don't know if Butler could match Gill's athleticism, but few could. and right now, anyway, Butler has a better frame and is a much better shooter.
TL;DR: I think he's a take, regardless of Mikey Lewis
best clip I've ever seen was of Austin Schwartz. It took his AAU game and just showed every shot and key touch he had in the game. You could actually see that he was about 4 for 13 in that game. You could see he was there to shoot, rest of the team be damned. You could see the shots he made were in the lane. Now it was just 1 game, but gave you a much more real look at the player, but still only took 3-4 minutes instead of watching a 90 min game. Wish some channel would specialize in those types of clips and get them widely for tons of recruits.
And they all make bad decisions after midnight if you give them too many natty lights.

A bunch of programs passed on Deron Williams too! Jereme Richmond was a 5* burger boy. Giorgi was a 3* guy that wasn't highly recruited either. HS rankings and who is heavily recruiting players doesn't always predict how they will turn out.
I mean you can find an exception to everything. For historical context, we as a program have not done well when relying heavily on projects and diamonds in the rough. Deron Williams had a whole list of high major suitors.

Chester has ID'd lots of kids who have really risen in terms of offers, notoriety and ranking. I'm gonna ride with his judgement. Also, it appears that Underwood has gone from intrigued to pretty enamored. Again, more than good enough for me.
100%. I don't know where this idea comes from that he was overlooked, but I've seen it a lot and it persists. And we only got Deron because one or two of those other suitors (Georgia Tech? - my memory fails me here) filled their guard slot with someone else. I think a couple dominoes fell our way with Deron.
