Don't splash the pot.

If he stays in '25 the ONLY school that could shake him would be Kentucky. He grew up loving Kentucky and liking Illinois. But generally speaking, I'd say listen to the usual suspects. If it's '24, then ILL

Kentucky, Kansas, and a growing list that will get bigger if he has a good season this winter.

At some of the schools he is considering ... Wouldn't be an issue, but here it would be ... I think he will find a way to get it done but there is a reason he has not officially announced he is reclassifying yet ...

From everything I have gathered, all of the blue bloods do not want him for '24 ...
SO, if he cannot reclass, what do our odds look like if he ends up being a '25 and not a '24?

I'd be shocked if that is true. Recruiting is fluid. If they want him for '25 they'll probably want him some way for '24.

It's largely about the NIL money. Does Kentucky want to pay the same for him in 2024 as they would in 2025? Doubt it.

And on his end, what if he waits but then doesn't have a stellar season at Compass? Or gets injured?

These are the main reasons why Illinois is in pretty decent position.

Seeing the Aces…we should have thrown the biggest of bags at Ace Baldwin to come be our 1 this year. We are preseason top 5 with him imo.

I digress…
Baldwin is a great player but I would have killed for Ashworth. Just an absolutely deadly shooter.

Anyone comment on Morez shooting or have stats? Also would be interested to hear how his game differs from Ty. Seems similar at least in how their games are described - strong, aggressive, outstanding rebounder, dog around the glass, defends, but not a shooter. Ty obviously can pass and has decent handles.

Morez is an on the block true power forward. He and Ty aren't really comparable.

Morez is a post player...I'd assume he spends most of his time as the 5 in college. Ty is a 3/4 that can't shoot and not a post player.
