Illini should look to add 3-point shooters to balance out roster.Well stocked on interior with Dainja,Hansberry,Morez.Adding Davis and other shooters should give us potent inside-out offensive game.

If he wasn't in the rotation for Wisconsin, then he wouldn't ever touch the floor for Illinois.
Conner Essegian is exhibit A why many fans in Madison aren't thrilled with Gard...Wisconsin gets a lot of guys who show a ton of promise their freshman year and then just don't seem to develop much

We’re going to absolutely need our dudes to be able to shoot. If Dain, Ty, and Sencire are all playing 20-30 mins a game, we’ll need good, good shooters on the floor at all times, imo.

It would be a four to five week dead period… not sure it would be fair the kids who want to transfer.
What's not fair about it? The coaching carousel has just begun so it would probably be a good thing to let the dust settle before deciding where to go. Plus theoretically they have until the fall to decide. And at worst they can't go anywhere until their respective school years finish anyway. What's the difference between the end of March or the end of April?
How is it any different than the portal opening up during bowl season for football
Same reasons as above apply but the differences are there's more time between the end of college season and their post season and there's only four teams really playing for the championship.

Agree that we are going to need one more "ELITE" shooter from the portal. However, this year's offense was premised upon TSJ and Marcus being able to get their own shots. Neither of them effectively use the pick and roll to get off outside shots and none of our big men are really very good at setting the high screen. It is my expectation that when they are gone Brad is going to return to his original concepts on offense of running plays through a big man at the free through line and/or having our shooters come off of the high screen and take their 3 point shots. I think we will see the real value on offense next year of both Luke and Dra since they both are pure outside shooters and good passers, too. Maybe Ty will do some of the Domask backing down booty ball, but I expect Dain, Amani and Morez to get a lot more plays run for them inside or off the pick and roll while we pound the glass for offensive rebounds. Give us an experienced downhill player that can shoot and run the floor and an experienced big man who can set great picks and rebound and we will be good to go.

@LvilleILL do we have any legit interest/chance at Cliff? I'm shocked he's transferring. I'm also a little shocked at how little he's developed during his time with Rutgers.

I think the biggest problem Whisky has is Chuckie aka Gismo. I think he is a horrible point guard and only worried about Chuckie.
