I heard Quentin Snider is faxing his Louisville transcript to the portal as we speak. Also heard Shaun Livingston was wearing a "Dainja Zone" T shirt while using a super soaker in Champaign yesterday.Anyone know where DJax is at these days? Does he still have a year of eligibility?
Insiders, can you confirm?
Nothing personal….it’s all business. Some coaches are losing their own sons to the portal.
The question is, can we play 2 PG at the same time?I heard Quentin Snider is faxing his Louisville transcript to the portal as we speak. Also heard Shaun Livingston was wearing a "Dainja Zone" T shirt while using a super soaker in Champaign yesterday.
I agree Ty’s production may be replaceable, but his heart, love of the university, and will to win would be really hard to get with a one/two year transfer. Would be totally bummed to see Ty go. I truly believe he’s going to keep getting better and better.I think right now everyone is exploring their options besides DGL and Amani-think about half come back and half don't
Not great. Heard he’s a Michigan LockWhat are the chances we land Morez Johnson?? /s
Some might lose their wives to the portal....but it might be more personal than businessNothing personal….it’s all business.
We are going to need updates every half hour on where things stand.
My guy said that while BU isn't throwing illini0440 out, he would "understand" if they moved elsewhere. They didn't have any info on Louisville. Not an insider, but have heard rumors that @LvilleILL and @illini0440 are flirting with the portal too--heard that Hoosier fans, starved for actual on-court results, are dangling some serious cash for an entertaining insider or two to liven up their message boards...
I would fully expect Ty to live in the gym this off season shooting a thousand jump shots a day. He may never be Alfonso Plummer, but if he can become serviceable it negates defenses sagging off. And we already know he can guard, rebound, and drive the ball.the issue with Ty is that you’re going to have whoever is guarding him in drop, clogging lanes. I highly doubt he just develops a jumper this off season. I’d hate to see him go, but he’s replaceable absolutely.
Of course. That's exactly why I'm asking what others see.Where’s that guys tweet about coaches actually watching film and finding value and fit in players…..
First one to transfer gets a pair of clown pants. Second transfer gets two pair. Not an insider, but have heard rumors that @LvilleILL and @illini0440 are flirting with the portal too--heard that Hoosier fans, starved for actual on-court results, are dangling some serious cash for an entertaining insider or two to liven up their message boards...
I generally don't even try to catch up with this thread. It's too time-consuming
Troll alert!Need his energy, speed, hustle and rebounding. And, it appears, his dedication to Illinois University. Work on jump shot, maybe, and free throws? Then we got the bonus round whole package with you.
I am a Ty guy. He appears to bleed orange and blue.
Dan might have to pony up some more NIL.Not an insider, but have heard rumors that @LvilleILL and @illini0440 are flirting with the portal too--heard that Hoosier fans, starved for actual on-court results, are dangling some serious cash for an entertaining insider or two to liven up their message boards...
That would be awesome, and I really hope that it happens. As people are saying, he is a liability on offense with the big center guarding him and just clogging up the middle. OTOH, he is so much fun to root for.I would fully expect Ty to live in the gym this off season shooting a thousand jump shots a day. He may never be Alfonso Plummer, but if he can become serviceable it negates defenses sagging off. And we already know he can guard, rebound, and drive the ball.
Troll alert!
I want to make something clear here: that's not parity.
Parity would mean Minnesota and Penn State and Northwestern get equal resources to compete with us. They do not. We are the big dog. We take what we want and leave the scraps for everybody else.
We were always a big dog relative to most, and bad coaching staffs failed to take proper advantage. But in NIL world it goes up an even further notch.
College basketball is a game of haves and have nots now more than ever. Illinois is a have, and should act like one and have the expectations of one, and its fanbase should recognize that and be proud and unapologetic for being one.
Parity is what schools who don't have our history, fanbase and resources want. Tough luck.
