Well Dr, Chandra , what did you think of the Illini reaching the Elite 8 after 19 years ??
Hal , I am so happy for the Fighting Illini.....they worked really hard to reach that pinnacle of success this year....what about you ?
Yes , I am overjoyed with their accomplishment's this year too............But what about that Hurley carbon unit ??.....seems to me he needs some Lithium gummy's or at least some shock treatments........looked like at times he was going to steal the ball for a layup.........why do they let insane people roam the sidelines while a game is going on ???

For the insiders, or close to insiders, is it a given that every P5 scholarship player is getting some sort of NIL? Just wondering how you would massage Morez, Jakaitas, Butler, or Fears? Curious as to how they might be valued. Also, is it safe to assume TY, DGL, and Amani are being pursed with $$ from other schools? Just trying to understand how this new game is evolving. Tks.

What is the advantage of over signing? I would think players would be turned off with even more playing time competition.

So at this early stage, it appears we'll have 4 "culture" guys to lead the troops in 2024-25. I would speculate that all 4 negotiated some type of NIL deal. Yes?
And with several weeks/months of activity still ahead, I would put this current roster of 4 players (5, with Jake Davis now in the fold) at 18th place in the new Big 10 from strictly a talent/personnel perspective. A long ways still to go!! In fact, one might call it a daunting task.

Ty, DGL, Goode, Amani and Morez would be very young and inexperienced and probably lack the collective shooting and ballhandling to quite work as a lineup, but talent is far from the problem with that group.

I dunno. My opinion only, but the extended posts about nonsensical things, especially in threads where we're drumming our heels on the floor waiting for some actual news, are what creates the sense of community that makes this board so entertaining. I certainly like reading about Pru and his NLs more than a post asking, for the umpteenth time, about AJ Storr.

Next to Storr or another alpha scorer, I think Humrichous might be tops on my list of targets. Looks Riley Minnix esque. Big body, 3 level scorer and can pass. Looks like he has decent lift too and all of that is pre Fletch.
Think he would be perfect to pair alongside Amani and Morez. And if we wind of landing Storr, think he could be a bigger version of Marcus in booty ball to complement our transition game. Guessing his NIL ask won’t be as big as Raynaud or some of the sexier names in the portal either.

Talk about no respect Dain has fallen to 113 ranking. If he was coming from another school to Illinois we would be celebrating. I am still hoping he returns like Kofi. He showed some good improvement at end of season, BTT and NCAAs. JMO - rather than transferring for a 3rd time, he should assume he can get 30 mpg at Illinois since Marcus has graduated, Coleman has graduated so we will not be playing booty ball or have a stretch 5. Brad doesn't mind feeding the post and playing pick and roll. Dain just has to get better at it - Kofi had much better hands and could seal his defender behind him easily. Dain also misses too many 2 footers.
Luke and Ty are definite starters if they return. I assume Dain was not promised a starting position next year so that is why he entered the portal. Amani and Morez can replace Dain at 4/5. DGL will be competing with new Illini portal players for PG/2G starting positions.
