Last year this thread was all about Bryce Hopkins. This year it’s all about AJ Storr! I’m already envious of this guy and he hasn’t even collected his money bags yet….

According to my sources ... Davis has not graduated from FAU and is not on track to graduate ...

Which is why there will be admissions issues at Michigan unless Dusty can get them to make an exception ...
Why wouldn’t we have the same issue? Doesn’t Illinois require 60 hours at Illinois for a degree (and the exception we made with Shannon was because the COVID year gave him two potential years at Illinois)?

Yup ... From what I've heard ... We will return 5 ... Bring in 5 or 6 portal guys ... And add the 3 freshman ...

6 portal guys and we would be over signed by 1 ... Which according to the staff meeting this morning ... Very much in play ...
How does over signed work?

The thing is as it turned out if FAU would have been in the Big they probably would have been middle of the pack. He's got to get better than what he had at FAU to come there and play if he wants to contend for a conference title.
Either that, or FAU had all the horses they need and May is just a mediocre coach who caught lightning in a bottle last year.

Is Luther Head going to pay somebody's way?
So, I've seen this posted many of times before and always wanted to ask, what do you mean by this? Is this something that happens often or has happened once or is it a running joke? Sorry that I'm oblivious.

Hmm, trying to do the math here.

If 5 return, and there are only 4 on the latest "99% returning" list, but also rumors of 2-3 transfering out (Dain being 1, obviously) - who is the 5th returnee? Sencire or Nico? Or... someone else?? o_O

Would you rather have Johnnel Davis/Maddox/pg
or
Storr/Hill/pg
I don't discount at all people's concerns about ego / family, unrealistic expectations, and jumping from school to school...but Storr seems to me to be the closest thing to a TSJ successor and I want that train to keep rolling.

Illinois is throwing around huge bags of cash to secure recruits and admitting kids that other Big Ten competitors can't get into school

Over sign to allow somebody currently enrolled to stay on scholarship to get a degree? continue working with Fletch/Sanders? Move to a football scholarship?

In the meantime, any update on AJ Storr while I try to hypothesize other scenarios to help make over-signing make sense to me.

This is hilarious because after all this Coleman and Bret stuff ... I told Bret if Coleman does come back we might need his help with a scholarship ...

He thought that was pretty funny ... :ROFLMAO:

I was listening to Piper on his radio show and he was saying he had heard our NIL was around 2.5 mil, and Indiana was closer to 5 mil. I thought I had heard from the insiders here we were at the top or close to it for the BIG.

According to census figures there are around 12.5 million people living in the State of Illinois. Now if every person in Illinois sent in to the Illini NIL pot just one little dollar...

Of course, believe it or not there are some people in Illinois who are not Illini fans. While I give you a moment to gather yourself from that shock... some Illini fans might consider sending in two or three dollars to make up for the slackers. And no... it's not deductable. But it should generate even more interest from The Portal Guys.
