So three small problems here.

1. Only two games were canceled. Southern Miss and Nicholls State (while Domask was healthy, incidentally). Two other conference games got postponed and played later on.

2. The threshold for a medical redshirt is 30%, so even if five games had been canceled, he's still at 32%

3. Regardless, the NCAA has been clear in other cases that it's not giving eligibility back for the Covid season

This waiver is getting denied, guys. I don't doubt that there are people around the program with optimism. They're wrong.
Really appreciate the insight. Hope you are somehow incorrect (you do too, I know). Optimism can be nice, but .... realism can be more healthy.

Highly doubt MD hires a legal team if it’s that obvious.

While I would’ve full heartedly agreed with you prior to this season, the NCAA has been crushed by the legal system this year with albeit not exact cases but somewhat similar eligibility issues.

Not trying it’s a foregone conclusion he gets it, I think the chances are slim, but they are much larger than they would’ve been 12 months ago.

You've obviously spent your day doing something productive instead of keeping up with the culinary and nautical puns on the Board.
Ha…I was late to the sub pun party, but couldn’t pass that one up. I was busy having knee surgery this morning, so I’m just catching up on this excellent thread.

I know Brad & Co are working their magic and they certainly have proven they have tricks up their sleeve. But, imo, Domask is the type of stability needed on the offensive end for this team to have a conf championship & elite 8 type run again.

At the moment it just feels like we’re losing too much. But getting AJ and maybe a couple others regardless of Domask could change my opinion 😂

I remember most posters gave TSJ the same chance of ever coming back and playing this year for the orange and blue. That worked out pretty well, so never say never. This is a different environment than in years past, and hope you are wrong.

This board is a very strange place today

This is becoming a “tourist in Las Vegas” situation where someone says this everyday.

The “vibes” being created by the portal is bringing back the recruiting discussions from ~15-20 years ago. So much was hanging in the balance on a couple, likely in-state guys. The eroding program status made everyone coming to places like this for any positive news.

The difference is (1) portal timeline is condensed compared to those golden HS recruiting days so we’re getting a months worth of news in a six hour period, and (2) the anxiety of the past has been replaced by a success-fueled fever dream.
