Bradshaw would be interesting, but I was not impressed with him at KU. Tons of tools to work with, but he was nearly unplayable some games the second half of the year.

Well if it has been said many times, Underwood is not going to push an assistant out, even for Boynton or Antigua, and it is unlikely any of our staff get a head coaching job at this point. How does Antigua get to Champaign?

If there are exceptions than clearly it's not a "non-starter"

First, I don't even know if this rumor is true.

Second, where is the line drawn? If we have multiple players getting PT guarantees that sends a message to others that they aren't operating on a level playing field.

I have no idea if Morez is getting a guarantee. But if he is, then it might not sit well with Hansberry who realizes that if he outperforms Johnson he still might not get get Johnson's minutes.

So there's a difference to me between "biding your time" and operating with a level playing field.

And a bowl of M&M candies in the locker room, with all the red ones removed...

Freshmen are going to freshman... Like you said, he has a lot of tools. I'd be willing to bet big he figures it out at some point.

Kids and families can be crazy. Adjusting to college sports can be so difficult for those that are just under and below the “elite players”. Obviously, there are exceptions.

Going from being a stud in high school to leveling the expectations and learning about the process is tough for those that have always just crushed it at every level.

To demand things from a college basketball coach that is crushing it in a tough conference and just reached the elite 8 is wild. If you aren’t mature enough to handle the process and competition then Illinois basketball is not the place for you. And that’s ok. Sincerely, best of luck, Butler. Sounds like it’s in everyone’s best interest you move along.

It's hard to make demands when you are the number 189 recruit in the country. It is easier when you are top 100.

Things change.

We are also in a much better position to recruit someone with a chance to help us this season. I think both sides will end up better off.
He is actually right around the top 100 figure currently, as he really moved up the rankings since committing. However, I agree with the general point. If he truly wants immediate guaranteed playing time to showcase his skills, Illinois is not the place to attend (especially with the way the portal works nowadays). He is about 6-7 years late for guaranteed playing time at Illinois, which speaks volumes to where this program is now compared with when Underwood was hired in 2017.

I personally think the young man had buyer's remorse and wanted a chance to play immediately elsewhere, as he would have been buried in the depth chart this year (and possibly beyond). No harm for us in anyway.

Just saw something regarding “Sencire has removed everything Illinois related from his socials”… Sigh…. I hate this trend… The transfer announcement build ups can be so dramatic… Major props to Dain…. Thought he went about it all in a great manner.

Can't blame him if he does go. He got to Fletch for a year and build up his body. He needs to go somewhere and get some meaningful playing time. Illini should be bringing in some pretty big guns and playing time would probably be limited. I hope he becomes a star somewhere. Kid deserves it.

He suddenly demanded this out of nowhere after already signing?
I wouldn’t say out of nowhere.

When he signed, we were a team full of seniors. TJ, Domask, Harmon, etc. Looking at a squad of players leaving at your position looks like there will be playing time available.

Now we’re in the process of bringing in a few older transfers at his position.

So my guess is he had a conversation with the staff looking for assurances when it comes to playing time and the staff couldn’t make those assurances, so he has decided to look elsewhere.
