oh no...that is terrible, lol. It is one of my pet peeves: expresso and expecially. Especially expecially...
Wait...it's not expresso?

Referring to Maddox: Louisvilles sell- $ & being the guy.

Illinois sell- solid $, playing for a culture program that can do some serious winning, being a major part of that team, and playing with really good players, a very good head coach, and the best Strength & Conditioning coach in the nation...
I mean it might just be as simple as Louisville being willing to give him the price we're holding for Boswell and Storr and others.

But then on the other hand, Louisville might be a bit of a rebuild situation next year, and Maddox only has the one year. Not sure how much sense that marriage makes from either side.

They'll want to reestablish competence I'm sure (and Illinois as currently constructed is no cinch for greatness), but it just seems kinda odd.

Regarding any higher level player, coaching carousel still moving. NIL on pause at those schools. Kentucky coach hasn’t been named and there is a boatload on NIL. Callisto just got to Arkansas for example. New coaches are going to want to start strong.

As the person who just posted a little earlier about probabilistic thinking, I'm pretty surprised by this statement, particularly in the context of what I was replying to.
You must have missed the post where he claimed that 0% of college basketball teams in the history of college basketball had an 11 man rotation and thus we’d never have an 11 man rotation.

His point that it’s highly unlikely remains accurate, but the statement as written is the exact opposite of probabilistic thinking.

For example there is no way Virginia will lose to UMBC, because a number 1 seed has never lost in the first round.

Or, the likelihood that some team in college basketball history had some semblance of an 11 man rotation.

My point is two fold. This board is a place where hyperbole is frequently unleashed. And just because I know I shouldn’t eat an entire sleeve of Oreos, isn’t going to stop me from eating them or rationalizing it’s okay because they’re vegan.

Comparing him to the best player in program history that went 3rd overall and was an all pro caliber NBA player might be a bit of a stretch.

I get it from the build that Deron needed to lose weight and Boswell but probably would benefit from getting leaner and quicker.
Ummmmmmmm……. Maybe not the best?

Maddox's twitter likes seem Illinois favorable. But not something to read into.

So, for the sake of clarification relative to the important takeaway from my post, you would feel comfortable relying on Amani as a potential starter or 25 min/game guy next year, and therefore take pains to not recruit over him? I like -- really like -- the potential that Amani has but if we're thinking about this from a program perspective, I don't see how you could stake so much of our potential success on his ability to jump into that role next year, with fouling as one reason among others. I think it's far more likely that Amani's trajectory is like that of Coleman's, meaning he averages around 15 min/game as a dual purpose backup 4/5 as a sophomore, with the potential to earn a starting spot as the season goes along.
I think people are over the edge on Amani's potential as a 5.Have heard that he is not 6'8 but closer to 6'6,profiles more as a 4,has problems finishing over longer players.Still think he will be a junkyard dog though.

2014 UK had a 10 man rotation. 9 of whom played in the NBA.
