If we get Boswell, Storr, Maddox and Booth then two players are transferring out this year from below. There isn’t enough minutes. There is no such thing as 12 man depth in college basketball.

DGL
Harris
White
Goode
Davis

Amani

Agree. The numbers won't add up. Four guys aren't transferring here for a lack of playing time and guys aren't staying here for a lack of playing time. No way there's a free for all for 8 - 9 spots and even then.... you'll have some unhappy campers.

My GUESS is that we don't get all 4.

I like the mad rush for all of these elite point guard, esp. when I remind myself Fears will be joining the party next season. But I can't help wondering where the size will be coming from. Amani snd Morez is a good starting place but we need to remind ourselves that it's not nearly enough. Where will the depth come from?

I agree. I think we add 2 starters from here. Any other additions will be non rotational depth/projects.

I see we've reached the point in the off-season where the grammar police are out in full force.

We'd probably go 10 deep. Who doesn't get minutes idk, maybe Davis is the first guy on the cutting board in that sense.

Are there any concerns that our frontcourt next year will be very young? a sophomore hansberry and 2 freshman and maybe a junior booth seems very young. I know Brad said he didn't want to rely so heavily on younger players anymore

Huge concerns. They'd be counting on young players that have never consistently performed at a high level to do so right out of the gate.

When you're trying to replace 90% of every measurable statistic, you can't plug in all of the holes via the portal. You have to rely on development somewhere and it looks like the frontcourt is where that'll be.

Regarding Hansberry, we want a 5, so if its Booth, a transfer 5, Morez and Hansberry ...?

Can we sell him on a four man rotation? Plus White will get some time at the 4.
I like Hansberry but I need a graph to see how all of this works for him (and me).

I respectfully disagree
I don’t think any of the 4 potential transfers are not going to come because they are worried about playing time

Boswell - starting point guard day 1
Storr- will start
Maddox- will start , he’s competing with three second year players in DGL, Nico and SH for playing time, as a fifth year senior and great three point shooter- I think he’ll be confident in his tick
Booth- knows we’re thin up front and will play significant minutes

I don’t think the numbers will impact who transfers in, I think it will impact who transfers out

I don't think we get both Booth and a starting capable transfer 5. (I wouldn't complain if we did, but there's only so much $$ to spend in the portal and likely a lot earmarked for Storr, et al.

IMO it makes sense to look at our 4/5s as just "bigs" - ie if Booth and Morez are both on the court together it doesn't matter who's the 4 or the 5. This is college ball - not many "true 5s" around (Edey, Clingan). What's more Underwood wants all positions to be able to step out and shoot (a la Hawkins being technically our 5 this year but still shooting from the outside).
