Maybe it's just me but these young men are really overreaching. Asking $1M - $1.2M, getting crazy.Goodman just said on Twitter Ballo's asking price was rumored to be 1.2 mill

A lot of talk that we should be watching for more names to enter the portal. That position could be heavily influenced by who we get at AC to replace Chester.I keep wondering which center we are working to get. Haven’t heard anything about that position at all.
Fit>>>>Ranking when it comes to transfers (You obviously still need talent)Wasn’t Marcus Domask ranked 84th last year? Point I’m trying to make is rankings don’t mean much this time of year.

This person declare for the draft but not enter the portal (as of yet)?Keep an eye on who enters the portal in the next couple of weeks. Brad has his eye on someone...
Skyy I will grant you, that was just a marriage that fell apart before the honeymoon and could never have worked.Count me on the side of not overpaying simply for stability.
But I would argue that it's an oversimplification that players like Epps and Skyy left simply due to money. There were pretty clearly other issues there.
People are freaking out about Ballo going to IU when Woodson just trotted out a front court of Kel’el Ware & Malik Reneau that didn’t do a whole lot for them. I say go ahead and let them go 4 out 1 in. If I’m an IU fan I’m still suspicious of shooting.I can't imagine an Indiana coach screwing up this level of talent
What sort of GIF should we be on the lookout for to signal that the mystery man has officially entered...or will it be so obvious that no GIF decoding will be required?Keep an eye on who enters the portal in the next couple of weeks. Brad has his eye on someone...
I know. I failedI blame you
Ranking portal players is as much of a learning process as recruiting them. They'll get better over time.Transfer rankings are terrible. I wouldn't put much stock in them. What's most important is how players are fitting within the overall roster and ability to provide an immediate contribution unlike prep recruits.
Guess NCAA should have made coaches sit out a year instead of needing a Portal Rule. This is exhausting, and, quite frankly IMO, not very much fun to follow.

Not if someone is willing to pay it.Maybe it's just me but these young men are really overreaching. Asking $1M - $1.2M, getting crazy.
COUPLE OF WEEKS?!?!Keep an eye on who enters the portal in the next couple of weeks. Brad has his eye on someone...
This place will be at Illinicon 1 within 3 days, TOPSCOUPLE OF WEEKS?!?!
Lol. Second time he's said that too. I think I'll use his favorite feature upon him, in his honor. You seem awfully mad that people can choose to filter what they see and don't want to see on a message board.
Indiana also has the one of the worst coaches in the country.Indiana getting the #1 player in the portal along with the #1 PG in the portal and we’re sitting here waiting on the 93rd ranked player Dante Maddox
Is it just me, or didn't Tennessee and FSU get in trouble with the NCAA this year for blatantly using NIL $ as a recruiting inducement? How does that square with this crazy auction process we are in now? I wondered about this at the time, but now it just seems silly.Maybe it's just me but these young men are really overreaching. Asking $1M - $1.2M, getting crazy.
If people are willing to pay them over a million dollars, they're not overreaching, that's just their market value. If anything, as crazy as it sounds, they might not be reaching enough... This is very similar to the player contract friendly NHL pre-salary cap that wound up almost bankrupting the league and leading to multiple lockouts. I suspect it will go the same way here once the endless bucket of money starts running dry and the major conferences collectively start moving towards multiyear deals to protect themselves.Maybe it's just me but these young men are really overreaching. Asking $1M - $1.2M, getting crazy.
Great question.I’m curious what percentage of all D1 players, during the transfer era, have entered the portal at least once. It’s gotta be a very high percentage…
Goode alsoGreat question.
Also, at this point, we only have 2 guys returning right? DGL and Ty
So now you can legally do it so long as it's a "collective" that of course isn't in any way taking direction from the school, nudge nudge, wink wink. From my understanding of the legalese, collectives can 100% discuss NIL numbers with potential transfers and recruits for a given location. Is it just me, or didn't Tennessee and FSU get in trouble with the NCAA this year for blatantly using NIL $ as a recruiting inducement? How does that square with this crazy auction process we are in now? I wondered about this at the time, but now it just seems silly.
