Maddox to Xavier is official.
Right now … The knee is still giving him issues …
The storyline to watch is if a 60-70% Hawkins is still a draft worthy NBA prospect …
And I think he could be …
It's taken about three days to go from "the MVC will be the feeder league for the Big Ten" to "the bottom half of even a P5 league will be a feeder league to the rest of the P5". The pool of 'haves' is shrinking incredibly fast vs. the 'have-nots'.I’m sure it’s unrelated to Storr getting $750k+ while he was playing for $50k and all you can eat cheese curds.
correct. that money is going elsewhere"We didn't want him anyway" stuff on Maddox. Not true. More like "not going to role out a Brinks truck for him".
Can you tell us if these are names that we have or haven't talked about yet?correct. that money is going elsewhere
Good for Brad. Not sure how storr is a good fit with Kansas. He’s added two selfish player from the big ten in two years. This has gotten out there a bit...but it got the point where Storr asked for a spot for his girlfriend on the woman's team. That was the main breaking point to me. Brad wasn't going to put Shauna in that position
Bardo thinksDomask waiver will get approved based on what his connections sayif spencer got declined what makes you think we have a chance that domask is back? We would be in a perfect spot if we got him back
This isn't to say they didn't want Maddox. They did and badly. But they weren't going to overpay for a role player when their two big time targets could be put in jeopardy. Brad is way too good at this portal stuff for thatcorrect. that money is going elsewhere
Well, a kid can try to negotiate for what he wants. And he obviously got it in the end. But I would agree that it's fair for Brad to not want to: 1) set that precedent; and 2) exactly, start putting his colleagues in difficult positions with his roster. I know nothing about the girlfriend and how good she is and whether she would have been a good add to the roster. But, clearly, not disturbing the peace in the athletic department is more important than one basketball player. This has gotten out there a bit...but it got the point where Storr asked for a spot for his girlfriend on the woman's team. That was the main breaking point to me. Brad wasn't going to put Shauna in that position
TMI....................but did they love Groce ??Moms loved Gross. Brad - I’m not so sure about.
I don’t have a problem with getting the gf a spot on the women’s team if that can get a top player for the men- now if Shauna didn’t t have a spot I wouldn’t want her to have to crean somebody. maybe Kansas had a spot and we didn’tThis has gotten out there a bit...but it got the point where Storr asked for a spot for his girlfriend on the woman's team. That was the main breaking point to me. Brad wasn't going to put Shauna in that position
Not being snarky, who are we saving the $ for since we missed on our 2 biggest targets. (I get MD and CoHawk possibilities) I like some names that are going to test draft, would love to see a couple names from that list suit up for the Beloved. Will BU wait to see who withdraws from the draft? Any internationals still on the radar?correct. that money is going elsewhere
Booth comes off the bench in that scenario …
Boswell, Domask, Elite wing, Hawkins, Transfer 5
Bench: Morez, Ty, Goode, Booth, Tre, Davis, DGL, Nico RS Jakstys
Not an Every Day Guy (unless we signed him)Never really wanted Storr anyway
That seems so obvious to me that I'm surprised anyone would see it as some sort of secret knowledge. The question is whether you can recruit sufficient talent from such a background or whether you have to compromise along the hot/crazy matrix to get ballers.Excerpts from a piece about how Dan Hurley views the parents as a critical factor in roster construction.
When pressed on how he evaluates recruits' parents, Hurley said this:
"Have they played on seven different travel teams? Have they transferred to four or five different high schools? When you talk to the parents in the recruiting process, are they constantly complaining about the coaches after a bad game or are you having a conversation where their son has got to do more, got to play harder, he's got to work on his skills. They tell on themselves. They drop hints. You've got the wrong type of people around the inner circle of your players, they'll sink your program."
