It might be worth noting, the article that was linked yesterday indicated that that $5mil per year is spread across multiple sports, including football and men's and women's basketball. But, your point still stands - if they want to prioritize him (and why wouldn't they?), it would seem that they could be pretty competitive if it came to a price war.

I don't know if anyone can speak to the health of the Memphis men's bball program, as I've heard a little that it might not be the healthiest - I thought I saw some people express some concern when Dain committed there. Our best hope might be that David Jones wants out of there because of that, and maybe we can use his connection with OA along with some serious NIL money to get him.
I’m by no means an insider, but I am in Memphis and I can tell you the sentiment is if Penny can’t prove something soon, it’s time to move on. A lot of fans are upset the team plays no defense and the offense looks like 5 guys on a playground with no real plays.

Someone did ask why they didn’t make the NIT. Penny and the administration chose to turn down the invite as a self imposed penalty for Malcolm Dandridge’s eligibility issues. Source: my company donates enough money to the university that we have a handler.

So 4 transfers still coming in, eh? Dream scenario...

Jones
Brea
Cardett
5 man

But I would assume we couldn't get all 3 of those guys so more realistic would be...

Jones
Brea
Harmon type role guard
5 man
Jones
Brea
Daivon Smith
Coleman Jones

Would Coleman and Domask coming back kick Smith and Brea out?

Who’s hungry for some recruiting news?
Lettuce hope they put their heads together and didn’t end up biting off more than they could chew.

From Chicago and apparently we’ve contacted him. Depth big piece? 6’10, just averaged 13 and 8, 35.2% from 3, 81% on free throws.
I was impressed from his highlights - seems pretty athletic for a big. Not sure if he could/would play the 5? Maybe? Seems a bit more like a Humrichous type player, although probably not quite so perimeter-focused. Seems like a better rebounder than Humrichous, and also seems quicker/more athletic, but not as good of a shooter.

(I've also come around on Humrichous some. I wouldn't mind either of these adds and maybe give Booth some playing time at the 3 as well, and have 1 of these guys (Humrichous or Pryor) play the 4.) oooh parentheses within parentheses

Whom have we picked up in the transfer portal that has that dawg in him? Who's that guy that will be banging on the offensive boards, playing lockdown defense, and scrapping for balls on the floor? I don't know enough about them to answer that question, but i fear that the answer may be.... no one. We've got a lot of athletic guys who are above average shooters, but my perception from watching limited clips and reading limited evals is that they represent upside skill but question marks on will (effort). Can someone provide reassurance we've got the dawgs we need? Because I feel like our returners were that... and now I hear they may be gone...
