I can’t get the image out of my head of Davis having a chance to win the game for FAU against Northwestern in the first round of the tournament. With 7 seconds left he basically walked the ball up the court, tried to shoot a 28ft three, and was blocked. Then got blown out in OT. Tough look to end your year. Just bad basketball IQ all around. It’s only one play, but arguably the most important play of the year.
If I remember right, the announcers were flabbergasted as he strolled up court.

Is this kid a potential option? Sorry, if I missed it.
I saw Cardet play against Northwestern and he is appealing. But my concern is that when you are part of a losing program and a much lower level how does that translate into winning at the highest level? There are a lot of details involved to win close games which most in the BIG will be. How much will he value possession and plays? TSJ probably top SG in the country dove for a ball and slam it off a player in the NCAA. It was early in the game but it showed everyone he was there to win and everybody else on the team better extend that effort. We are building culture, I just don't know about him beyond a good stat line.

Your opinion that we had the third best chance to win it doesn’t hold any weight unfortunately. Thats fine to believe that though.

IMO we made it to the elite 8 because of the big 3, and more importantly having a top 10 college player going on a heater. Ty is a great guy to have on your team, however IMO I don’t believe he should be starting. As you get deeper into the tournament the limitations are even more glaring.

I’m not sure why that bothers people.
Okay, fine. We finished with the 8th best chance to win it all this year with him starting. Any given year, if you are in the elite 8, you are a title contender.
You saying that he cannot start for a title contender does not hold any water, unfortunately.

Everyone in the board knows he has major limitations and probably 99% of people on here hope that he isn’t starting next year, as that’ll mean we have some studs.

Question is, even if we got Johnell Davis to agree and sign to come here, would we have enough NIL monies left to fill the other spots needed filled and by decent to good players???

Edit already answered by Indy lol

Michigan wasn't even really recruiting Johnell from what I was told, primarily because of the price tag, not admissions

I love Ty, but he killed us in multiple games. If you want to be a title contender you can’t start a guy with his limitations IMO. I don’t believe he will be starting this go around.
I think him not being in late in games cost us a few games (Michigan St). The guy rebounds at an elite level, good passer, and he's a versatile defender. We need to embrace people who do things exceptionally and develop the rest of their game to a decent level, like his shooting. I hope he's back and keep using Draymond as the goal/ceiling

I think the same about dain... He could score close to the bucket better than anyone on the team and most in cbb. Sure he's not the best defender but once he started playing more we played our best ball and having his big body helped our defense at times on the interior. Wish him well but felt we missed some of his best work
