Re: Sencire, Amani to WVU

As James Bond in "Goldfinger" said after he electrocuted the villain in the bath tub: "Shocking ... positively shocking."

Go Wichita State!

Dip your nuggets in my staff source sauce.
I can't tell you how glad I am to see a soft every-other-day guy like Sencire Harris hit the bricks.

Maybe an unpopular opinion but I’m not that upset about Chester leaving and taking a bunch of guys who couldn’t crack the rotation on our elite 8 team with him…. Honestly, seems like a good dude, but I never loved him as a player, and I wasn’t that excited about him when we hired him. All his guys are kind of one dimensional. They play hard which is great but aren’t very skilled…. Similar to how he was as a player. You don’t win national championships with a team full of guys like that.

Guys… portal season is a marathon, not a sprint. 1700 players have entered so far and folks here are lamenting every one of them that doesn’t come to Champaign.
Yeah, especially if we indeed have a uber good recruiter coming in officially tomorrow.

I think that part of me still has Weber PTSD, even all these years later. Like Fox Mulder, I want to believe...but then I remember how bad that fall was.

I agree with the post that said we have a lot of production to replace and most of the big names are off the board. Hopefully some new names hit the portal soon.
Hell, Bruce can't hold a candle to Harv.

Good luck to Chet, Sincere, and Amari at Wichita State..
Lots of what ifs and whys, but once Chet found something at WV he wasn’t getting here, the rest of the moving parts were just dominos that were lined up long time ago. Loyalty to your recruiter seems stronger than loyalty to your previous school(s)

Dude, I saw KSU, NW and I also saw Derek Harper go 0 of 17 too over 2 games as an Illini. Give me a break, kids gonna get paid for a reason. I heard Robbie Hummel giving him props big time. With all do respect to Luke n Ty if you think they could take over a game like he did then your wearing orange shades. Dude is good and would start.
ON3 is reporting Cardet to Providence, so I guess we will see how he does in a Power 5 school. Last year, in the 5 games against Power 5s (NWU, Wisconsin, DePaul, KSU, Ok St,) he shot 32-87 for 36.8%, and 6-23 on 3s for 26%. https://www.on3.com/college/provide...guard-wesley-cardet-jr-commits-to-providence/

I don't blame him, but seems a little sour grapes-ish to me.
Uhhhh, no, not at all. I think it's pretty obvious, at least to me it is, that HC Underwood is willing to spend every dime he has available in NIL funds to bring in the best players he can. AND this means that, like it or not, there's going to be some tough battles for those 200 minutes/game. And Harris and Hansberry are BOTH Frazier guys/recruits..... I don't find it the least bit odd that they are willing to follow him knowing their competition for those 40 minutes will be coming from lesser players.... I don't fault them in the least.

If fact, I actually LOVE that they have followed Coach Frazier instead of going elsewhere. It makes it easier for me and other fans to keep tabs on how they are doing.

Sorry, but I get a faint taste of sour grapes. I object to bad mouthing former players who leave of their own free will. The coaching staff saw something in them that made it worth signing them instead of other available high schoolers.

It’s like degrading the girl you once adored after she decided she found someone better.

Good. The kumbaya stuff only seems to apply as long as you're useful. I'm happy for the players to get theirs where they can
They are pros in every sense of the word except they are required to attend classes.

I'm ok with departures (free will, baby), but going to a hated rival is beyond the pale
I was kinda expecting him to go Ivy league or to like Stanford if he left.

IU would be pretty sad but he's from Indy so it wouldn't necessarily be surprising.

Just referring to Chester posting that particular clip, saying he's taking something with him...I dont think it's odd that two players would follow the coach who was their primary recruiter when it looks like they are being recruiter over or are not going to step into the minutes they thought they were going to.

It's no more sour grapes than what Chester is doing on twitter currently.

Lets not do this.
