The UNC insiders on the trilly discord said that Coleman Hawkins is on the staffs target, along with 2 others not in the portal yet. Someone from Illinois said Coleman is likely going pro and the insider said he’s “nearly certain” to enter the portal this week per the conversations he’s had with staff. Any insiders here with info on Coleman and potentially being a tarheel?

They want him as a 5 tho. And I am doubtful Coleman goes to UNC to play the 5 when he’s made it abundantly clear that he does not want to play center
Coleman bleeds orange. He won’t play anywhere other than at Champaign - unless the NBA.

Based on what the insiders said last time, and they heard from Rod, he has no plan on entering the portal.

I have the solution. Go outside of college hoops for our next impact 30pt. per game athlete.
My vote, Scotty Scheffler. I found he has 2 years of eligibility left. I'll chip in! 😆 🤣

This is what I've been wondering about. How long before someone challenges the 4 seasons in 5 years rule and wants to come back to college hoops after playing a couple years in Europe or Asia? Or just keep playing in college for 10 years? Why does the NCAA get to set any limits at all on who and for how long a player can play? Until the players (and therefore all of the schools) form a union and collectively bargain with the NCAA, I'm not sure that any rule at all isn't up for litigation.

Maybe there's an employment/collective bargaining attorney in the audience who can chime in.

You
You guys keep
Using this word. I don’t think it means what you think it does
You will eat soon enough, is the meaning, like mom used to say…get out of the kitchen and wait 🤣

Ulrich Chomchee is another big who would benefit from playing at least one year of CBB that OA most likely has connections with. With all of the talented bigs being stacked on Big10 rosters this portal season thus far we need a defender/rim protector or we’ll run into what ran into last year with teams with talented sizable bigs (Edey,Clinigan,Ighodarro,Reese. etc. )

He's making it easier to understand why Underwood moved on from him. I think Underwood walked away with the better deal and is really the one laughing (replacing Frazier with Antigua).

I can understand feeling a bit miffed that his guys all left early / got buried on the depth chart and then left. But we're trying to win stuff here and waiting 3 years for guys with no experience / massive flaws in their game to develop doesn't work as well as before vs. bringing in seasoned talent from the portal

WV announces it's 2025-2026 recruits, Morez Johnson and Jeremiah Fears. Who cares, we have the portal.

B1G reloading this offseason…. IU, Michigan, Rutgers, Nebraska, Maryland all having nice offseasons and should be playing for tournament bid expectations next season.

chin was the lead guy on dj wagner.
Chin was only the lead on paper. DJ Wagner’s dad was the actual lead on that one. Played for Cal at Memphis. Louisville thought they had a shot with his grandfather having played at Louisville, but that was never going to happen.

DJ and Billy Richmond are friends. Billy had to sit out the year he transferred from Vandy to Memphis when DJ was a freshman. No coincidence their kids committed to Cal and no coincidence they are going to follow Cal to Arkansas. Won’t be shocked when Thiero also follows to Arkansas. Yet another son of an early 2000’s Calipari Memphis Tiger.

Leaving with table scraps. Realistically both seem like good kids and I wish them the best. They both would’ve had limited roles going forward
They’ve only played one season each, and while they both have their limitations, they both were solid freshmen role players. 3 years of eligibility left. Their stories aren’t written yet.

That's easily a top 3 preseason team ... IMO ...

There's a case to be made for #1 ...

I know Domask is seemingly completely up in the air/out of his control, but does the staff have any feeling that Hawkins is actually coming back? His tweets cannot be considered anything other than what they are, but I'm getting my hopes up. And how does that impact recruiting until final decisions are made? Seems like having a definitive answer would be a huge help...but might not be coming anytime soon.

This isn’t great. But not terrible. It comes off slightly petty but mildly amusing. lol.

At least it didn’t go the Pizza Parking Lot, chest-bumb route. (As far as we know.)
Chet chest bumped IDKWTI and he chest bumped us. Chet is being Chet. Good when he’s for us, not so good when he’s not.

Glad Chester went somewhere he might feel a bit more appreciated (not that he wasnt here, just sayin). And I love to see Amani and Sencire joining Chester in WVU. People can say what they want. Brad is the HC and he wanted to go a different way. They all didnt see eye to eye and went somewhere else. I wish them all the best. No hate here, just love. In a prefect world, we knock them out of the tournament for a chance at a Final Four or Elite Eight or something. And I Will probably follow WVU to some extent this year.
