A starting frontcourt of either Coleman/Big Hummer (pause) and Onyenso gets me giddy.

A starting 5 of Boz/Jones/TY/Coleman/Oyenso and we will have once again reloaded and will be ready to go for the 24/25 season.

And while USC is getting high ppg guys, thats an awful lot of mouths to feed for guys that come from spots where they are accustomed to getting theirs. Gotta wait and see how that plays out when guys are forced to take relegated scoring roles.
I get what you are saying about SC. I really do and there is only one ball BUTT (and it's a big one), the COACH is kind of important too and Musselman can coach up guys.

Agree bro deacon ...

Something is coming with coach Antigua returning to Illinois. I think a big or two.

Regarding Goode ..
I appreciate his effort and time as an Illini and wish him well.

If he goes to Indiana he likely will be a Miller Hopp clone shooting 3s from the corner with limited rebounding potential.

If recall this past season Goode got pushed around under the hoop a number of times and in a case or two, coach BU pulled Goode and put Guerier back in the game. Just my take.
Lol, Goode gave maximum effort but he still had that really rough stretch where he was struggling defending the post. Refs would blow the whistle and the camera would pan to an exasperated Goode who just got thrown to the floor and was somehow called for a foul anyway.

I disagree with this. He's obviously not a post up guy but he was 97th percentile in scoring efficiency as a PnR ball handler and his assist rate is similar to Coleman with less turnovers. He is absolutely not going to be the primary ball handler like Domask turned into or a first scoring option like TSJ but he can definitely be a guy who can create for himself and others. I would almost compare his offensive impact to a better version of Coleman.
I have no idea how they're categorizing possessions in those videos (also is anyone else sick to death of that music?). There are a couple of kinda-sorta ball screens in the Humrichous ones (it's more of a pin-down action that Evansville seemed to like to run, and the first option was for Humrichous to let fly. Good idea!), and then there are some that are just objectively not a screen of any kind at all.

He doesn't have quite Coleman's assist rate (and nowhere near Domask), but he will pass. I don't mind that as a stylistic comparison really, Coleman is more talented and explosive, and of course he wasn't handling the ball in PNR's for us either, but he would put the ball on the floor. A little bit of Hawkins, a little bit of Guerrier, a little bit of Goode.

I like the film. He fits what we do. Felt the same way about Jake Davis, it's like "oh, these are our kinds of actions".

But all of that said, there's a note of equivalence between Ben Humrichous and Kylan Boswell afoot in this thread, and there's no other way to say it, that's absurd and incorrect. ("a better version of Coleman" also, just flatly, wildly unrealistic. He wasn't a better version of Coleman on a bad Valley team. He wasn't even a better version of Coleman in NAIA.) Humrichous is a complementary piece, Boswell is a cornerstone. And again, not only is it a fact that Domask was a dramatically more accomplished player at SIU, the receipts are there of me saying so the moment he committed and accurately pointing out that he was a lock for a huge and starting role. "That's what everyone said about Domask" is the path to unfair expectations and disappointment with Humrichous and I'm trying to nip that in the bud.

Can’t stress this enough - Goode got a bruuutal whistle this year.

*sniff that in the butt

for those that don’t remember, believe this was something else the schmack kid said during a student broadcast.

I know it’s his final year and it would probably be a blow to his ego, but he really should drop down a level. He won’t do himself any favors by going to another P6 program.
Recall couch Antigua recruited Meledez and Curbello. With Goode gone, there is some probability and merit for Melendez to return.

Kind of a 50/50 thing I guess. Better defender than Luke if memory serves me right.

Curbelo should come back. Love the way he plays. I don't think he's in the portal though.
