Joel Goodson

respect my decision™
Wrong class. Richard Scanlon was the most popular Prof on campus for a couple of decades. Classical and Greek Mythology. I had one or two of his classes. (Required for School of Accountancy as I recall. /s). He used to dress up and predict the outcome of our fall football games. Immensely entertaining and full of energy.

In fact, the most popular faculty member on campus while he was there!

Scanlon was right up there with my Numerical Analysis prof

I was fortunate to get into one of his courses with 1,500 or 2,000 of my closest friends, and, yes, he was very entertaining!

#1 in the nation Thursday night thru Saturday afternoon!!!!!! Unofficially, of course.

I was at the upset of Magic & Michigan St!
Me too - can still see Eddie's sweet baseline jumper, followed by absolute pandemonium..🥳

The Saturday lost to Ohio State was such an incredible letdown. I remember that Ohio State team. Lots of future pros (Herb Williams, Kellogg, Ransey, G. Waiters, and, deep on the OSU bench, a future NFL QB named Art Schlichter).

People crack me up. You wouldn’t be cool with the school paying Dee Brown $2,000,000 to secure him if it was 2001? I sure would.

Where do we stand with Derek Holcomb???
Not that anyone cares, but I grew up down the street from where Derek lived when he went to grade school and high school. I did not know him because he was a few years older than me. When I was in grade school I remember riding in a car past his house and someone telling me, “That’s where Derek Holcomb lived”. I asked, “Who’s that?” 40 years later his name is brought up over and over on an internet message board. So for me Derek Holcomb is some kind of cosmic idol. LOL

Me too. There was a bomb threat that night. I believe we were 15-0. Then went 4-11 the rest of the year.

The game was during Christmas break, so I wasn't in Champaign. My Dad and I were planning to drive over for the game, but a blizzard kept us from making the trip from Olney, IL. I always regretted missing that game. Eddie was one of our all-time great players.

Can we please get some recruiting news? Even if it’s not real?

The last 5 pages are about encounters with a 66 year old former player, old professors, and wishing a guy who just transferred good luck at IU.
