How Indiana didn’t prioritize this kid is a complete mystery to me. Their loss is our gain, hopefully,

Think he can be a difference maker in the BIG and is a potential NBA player. The lineup combinations are seemingly endless. Hope we get him.

they're loaded with PFs. that they can't shoot is hilarious.

definitely our gain

The fact that Ben Hunrichous has really only been playing basketball for about 5 years is the most impressive thing I’ve read today. LOVE the Duncan Robinson comparison, but I think he has a higher ceiling… call me crazy
I'm nitpicking here - I've really come around on him, too, and I hope we get him - but my take from that article wasn't that he had only played basketball for 5 years, but more that he hasn't played SERIOUS basketball for more than 5 years. I think he has played at what you might call a "normal" jr high and high school level for a while, but only started playing serious AAU ball in the summer before his Sr year of high school. (And because of this, he wasn't highly recruited out of high school - he just didn't have much exposure)

But really I think your point still stands - he could likely greatly benefit from working with a top level program, facility, coaching staff, and even improve just from consistently facing and adapting to top level competition.

5 months of hard training with Fletch/Sanderson should pay dividends

@Joel Goodson posted this article that got buried in the last thread and didn't get enough talk.

Ben H is good

Absolutely sign me up for this. Seems like a guy that would kill it playing with a top tier PG.

Man a year with Fletch/Sanderson and Underwood scheming to get him mismatches is an exciting prospect. I didn’t watch him play at all this year, but the article strikes me as confusing the optimistic case for a likely case.

I think he could play at the Big Ten level especially as a 23 year old (I’m assuming).

I’m very happy with my receipts on the Marcus Domask commitment.

I’m betting those chips. Mark me down as the guy who doubted Ben Humrichous. Y’all are losing your minds on this one.

so sayeth the king of good calls. whatever, man, you're on a roll

I haven't seen anyone proclaiming that Humrichous is an alpha. But Ray Charles could see that he has the makings of a damn good piece

I agree, that’s why I said “really only played..” I meant by that that he’s only taken it seriously for a little while. And I’m totally with you, I’m on board on this dude.

Pairing him and Jones would be an incredible tandem.

My favorite though was yesterday where he was described as a "Domask/Dalton Knecht hybrid".

To give credit where it's due though, on Beilein's last great team, Duncan Robinson was a senior averaging 9 points a game with 203 of his 277 FG attempts coming from 3 point range, he was the 5th leading minutes getter and an occasional starter, and really provided a weapon for them.

I actually like Humrichous and I do think he's potentially capable of that kind of role (though like every other comparison, Humrichous is bigger than Robinson). He's a take for me. There's downside, he might be such a turnstile on defense he subtracts more than he adds, but it's a good set of skills to add to the mix. His shooting threat will open the floor for others at the very least.

But people have taken "97th percentile as a PNR ballhandler" and are dreaming of an offensive centerpiece and NBA prospect, when what that actually reveals is the limitations of using those kinds of statistics in college basketball.

If Humrichous is a primary option on offense for us next year we are in big, big trouble. As was KenPom offense #252 Evansville.

Hawkins posting for the draft looks pretty much 100% committed to going pro. Don't think there was any truth to the portaling rumors.

Now with his return completely ruled out let's go get Humrichous and Onyesu to solidify the front court. Then would still like to add a combo guard and wing (David Jones and Domask?) but the base would there.

Humrichous would add a shooter with size and length that can be utilized in the pnr. Onyesu is raw but legitimately has defensive POY upside and is a great athlete that offensively could be used as a rim runner and to attack the offensive glass. Onyesu could split time with Morez at the 5 while I think you could play Humrichous at both the 3 and 4.

Booth would have to be on coming off the bench but it would make some very big lineups possible and a deep bench with DGL, Ty, Morez, Booth, Davis, and White. Though looking at that I wonder if they only make 1 more addition if Domask doesn't get a waiver:

Guards: Boswell, DGL, Transfer, (Nico?)
Wings: Ty, Humrichouse, White, Davis
Bigs: Booth, Onyesu, Morez, (Jaksty-RS)

Underwood got tired of them constantly spilling inside info to randos on a message board, it all makes sense now

OR he’s doing his due diligence to throw us off his trail 👀

I have wondered why it has gone silent since OA has come on board. Just no info because OA is pulling the last rides?
No info because BU is working in the dark and wants no leaks?
