5 guys French Fries are so overrated. Give me Wendy's fries, but with Chick-fil-A sauce all day long.
Five guys fries aren't just overrated. They are absolutely horrendous.

Like they are so incredibly soggy and the inside isn't cooked. Maybe if they cooked them longer or something.

Portillos is the best fast food fries. If you're on campus Legends fries were really good too.

As many of you have stated, 6'6" 210 lbs. SF/Wing David Jones of Memphis (now in the portal) would be a HUGE pickup for the Illini. He averaged 21.8/7.6/1.8 this past season, shooting 45.9/38.0/79.7. He may be the best (and only?) high volume scorer presently in the portal. But can Illinois compete with (or beat?) the NIL offers that Jones will undoubtedly be receiving? Does anyone have info on how much it would "cost" to add David Jones from the transfer portal? Do either Antigua or Anderson have any connections with Jones?
Just getting caught up so maybe someone body answered you but I believe both Anderson and Antigua have connections with Jones.

Anderson was involved in recruiting him to DePaul and Antigua and Jones are both Dominican and Antigua used to coach the Dominican national team so I'd assume they have some connection.

I honestly feel like Harmon was good enough to be a pretty major contributor. I don't really know what happened but it was like he forgot how to play basketball.
The guy really played hard and gave everything for us, I am really appreciative for his contribution and he had a lot of real clutch buckets, but he’s just not very talented.

While we wait for news, I thought this video gave a decent rundown on the more modern analytics-based philosophy on offensive efficiency and shot selection. Some might find it old news, but maybe some would find it interesting. The video uses Alabama's offense this year as the main example.

It's possible I should have posted this somewhere else. Sorry if that's the case. I do think these concepts are closely linked with roster construction, though, and thus relevant to recruiting.

I think people had a good impression from Justin because he started the season red hot from 3, offensively playing well over his career numbers. It also masked his subpar defense and poor offball play. But the reality of it is when you take his season as a whole, it aligns almost perfectly with his career stats and projections as a deeper bench player at a P5 school. He was a deep reach as a player but seemed like a really good character guy for us, and so just from that, he was a better add than expected.

That said, the hindsight 20/20 question of course is had we not taken Justin and instead had his role go to Sencire, how that would've gone.

Ray Charles has several great songs that do directly relate to aspects of Illini roundball. Like...

“What Would I Do Without You” (Ayo, Shannon...)

“Hit The Road Jack” (Any big Illini recruits that end up elsewhere)

“Hallelujah I Love Her So” (the State Farm Center)

“I Can’t Stop Loving You” (Basketball, in general)

“What’d I Say” (Loyalty posters searching the archives)

“Night Time Is The Right Time” (Illini evening tipoffs)

“Yes Indeed!” (When Hawkins or Shannon or Goode drained another Three)

“Give The Poor Man A Break” (Brad clears his bench when the The Beloved are way ahead to not embarrass the other side)

“Don’t Let the Sun Catch You Cryin’” (Illini Nation after a tough loss the night before)

“Get on the Right Track Baby” (An Illini gunner having an off-game)

“Drown in My Own Tears” (Illini Nation when the Beloved is thrown off the Madness Dance floor)

“I’m Movin’ On” (Illini players joining the Portal or the Association or a chosen profession)

“Tell the Truth” (the great Brian Barhart’s calling of Illini sports)
Don’t forget “Georgia on My Mind” (RJ Melendez). 😉

If you don't care about defense as long as the player promises to STILL create more offense, this is the guy for you.

His DRtg was 110. TSJ's this past year was 106 (he was in the 90s every other year). It will be interesting to see how he gets along with Barnes. That guy is all defense.

I think Harmon was huge in the games that TSJ was out. He had 9 games in double digits with 4 of them coming in those 6 games. I don't think Sencire could have stepped up offensively like that, but down the stretch it's not hard to argue that he would've helped more than Harmon.

A couple reminders we didn't get Mayer until the end of May two years ago and Shannon until the end of April. As they keep saying ...stay patient.
If I’m not mistaken, you have to be in the portal by 1 May so we have 7 days which includes grad transfers.

Not saying magic won’t happen but I’d imagine we’ll start getting the tempering of expectations posts soon.
