My mom made the greatest fries of all time - simple: fresh potatoes, Crisco, and yes, we ate them with a fork. Didn't even need ketchup they were that tasty. Lightly salted.

This is just embarassing. This whole dialog I’m in the middle of reading is all because you tooted your own horn, and then got called out on it. Instead of just admitting all your BS you say “the analysis was also more sound than anyone who disagreed”.

We were somewhat refined as a family. If I had dug into my mom's fries with my hands and ketchup, my daddy would have suspended my weekly paltry allowance forthwith.

And my dad would have taken away my paltry allowance - or worse - had I eaten with my hands. We were somewhat refined in that way.

Forks are fine. As Yogi Berra allegedly said, "When you get to a fork in the road, take it!" He also allegedly said: "Nobody goes to Stan and Biggie's anymore- It's too crowded!" I miss my days in St. Louis as a Cubs' fan. The Hill, great eats!

I know most of you likely haven't got one near you. But Rally's/Checker's fries are my all-time favorite. Can't tell you how many times I've sat in their drive-thru and only ordered fries.... Their Big Buford is also a top notch burger. Heck you can even buy Rally's fries in the frozen section of your local supermarket nowadays! Do any of these other joints mentioned do that???? I think NOT! Personally I think an air fryer does them best.... Handful at a time, so they are ALWAYS hot, run 3 small batches through, and I'm in French Fry Heaven!!! Of course you have to dip them in a Chick-fil-A type sauce, but personally I'm totally fine with just a Mayo/Ketchup blend..

The NCAA did offer us leniency in the Deon investigation IF we told him to play his basketball elsewhere. We rightfully refused, and the pitchfork and lantern crowd came at us with a vengeance.

My wife and I threw up after eating at a Whataburger in Austin in the 80's. That W still makes me queasy.
