That would be very impressive. One too many though, I guess that would mean Moretti out the door?

Just thinking through it:

4 years to play: Morez, Jakstys
3 years to play: Davis, Booth, DGL (Moretti)
2 years to play: Ty, Boswell, White, Claude, Onyenso
1 year to play: Posh, Wooga, Humrichous
Until the rules change, I'd just put everyone on 1 year to play... I don't see how anyone can plan very far ahead in roster construction. Young men between the ages of 16 and 23 are some of the ficklest critters out there. They are easily distracted by shiny objects. For the ones that don't play, PT is a very shiny object. For those that do, people will dangle things that are literally shiny in front of them...

Every April will be basketball roster Thunderdome.

Davis's name is not on that list of all Natty but he DOES MAKE UP THE DIFFERENCE WITH THE HAIR. I could envision him leading the team out on the court with flowing hair.

there's a few idiots that have been rough on them. hope they didn't scare them off.

I know it won’t have the biggest on court impact and the scholarship will likely best be used for somebody else, but I for one will be sad to lose Moretti. Him and Luke seemed to be the main drivers of the good vibes and culture over their years, and anytime he was brought in, he was almost always rock solid, which is really tough for a guy who has no idea if he’s even touching the court that day. Plus I have a soft spot for good passers and the extra zip he had on his dishes was always fun to watch, reminded me of Belo

True in terms of future expectations of keeping those players, but I don't think you want 13 final season guys all on the same team, that's a path to a bad culture.

And we want there to be good, key players on the team who we WANT back and want to shell out big NIL to keep.

We weren't willing to fight for our returnees this year. That's directly related to our heavy reliance on a lineup of 5 guys where the NBA-bound Hawkins was the only one with eligibility left.

Brad's cooking, we'll be fine, but I think we can and should keep the chaos dial a little short of that in the future.

Belo will live on in Illini lore long after we are gone

McDonald's fries....hot and fresh...are quite possibly one of the greatest processed inventions in human history.
Note that I didn't say they were bad, per se. Just incredibly overrated. I'm assuming you've never any other good fries, otherwise you'd definitely agree.

Who do we have off the bench that can handle the ball ?

I could easily see something like: Posh, Domask, Jones, Onyenso ...

Or something like: Posh, Wooga, Jones, Onyenso ...

There is also going to be the potential to add 5 ... High potential ...

Too short for my liking...i don't have a problem if he is coming off the bench and doesn't play with Boswell.

Even with Illinois, that hasn't been true. Dain stayed for 2 years, TJ for 2 years, Grandison stayed 3 years. A lot of the draw of Boswell is that he's got 2 years of eligibility. You can't expect it, for sure, but years of eligibility is still an asset for players (and a large part of why Sencire redshirted last year, to maintain an additional year of self value).

Get old, stay old is a thing, sure, but it's usually a couple players per year, not the whole team.

I’ll be honest I don’t see a world where Ty doesn’t start for us. Nor do I believe he shouldn’t start. I realize he can’t shoot as of now but he was a year long starter on this years team. A team that will probably be better than the team we have next year.

Boswell, Wooga, Claude, Humrichous, Onyenso

Bench: Ty, Posh, Booth, Morez, Tre

Not getting much tick: DGL, Davis

Redshirt: Jakstys
First of all, somewhere DGLs Mom is cussing you out for this. 😂

Secondly, this is a solid, deep squad but not really seeing the star power I think we were all hoping for. Feels like this team might struggle scoring the basketball. Feels like solid but not elite. Am I wrong?

This is a pretty crazy take, in my opinion. I think if we land the people that we are targeting, there is a better possibility of Ty transferring away than there is of Ty starting.
