Of course they don't now. That's great and all that there is the confidence there is but it's not over zealous for fans to desire a single difference maker recruit when (almost) our entire elite 8 team is going elsewhere and we've been told getting older is the key (we are getting younger) and culture is paramount. I'm patient but I can sympathize with others who are worried. That's not irrational.

Well, you know that three of last year’s pieces went to WVU because they knew they had been recruited over…

A little bit surprised we aren't going after Marcus Hill hard at all. Surprising mostly because I thought the staff was prioritizing Illinois kids. And then throw in the fact he averaged 20PPG and we have a need for a shifty combo guard...it's a little bit surprising imo. Now...if his asking price is something crazy...then I totally get it - not going after him. But if that's not the case...a little bit surprised - thought he'd fit well.

he's good, but the guy we're targeting is better. a lot better. the Plan B guys are better too

Not sure if you watched any games but Nate Santos is the real deal, stats aren’t out of this world but that’s what happens when you play with guys like DaRon Holmes, Koby Brea etc.
A guy who started and averaged double figures on a 2nd round ncaa tournament team would be a disappointment?

Man, I appreciate trying to operate with a positive outlook, but I think it’s well within reasonable to express the opinion that an 11 ppg A-10 transfer would be a profoundly disappointing solution to the hole at wing.

Have to imagine that’s not where the staff envisions him—though I’m having trouble coming up with where else it would be, as the roster is already overflowing with role players and (nice) bench pieces as it is.

Yeah I'm positive we're targeting other great, better players beside him. Hope we land a good combo, shifty guard in these next few days. Maddox would've been that - wanted him but...

It was previously said on here that if Brad had his way the roster would be finalized by end of April. How we feeling on that timeline and why’s it taking longer?

11 points vs Northwestern, 19 vs LSU, 18 vs St John’s, 14 vs Houston. Those aren’t. A-10 teams. Guy can play.

What are you mad at. You have come pretty hard the last couple of times. It’s ok for some fans that have the best interest at heart and just want to see the continued success. Relax.

Insiders - I know the focus has been on a wing and a big, but any interest in PG Miro Little? He didn’t get much playing time with Baylor, but dude can shoot, has good size, and could be a nice backup to Boswell (if he’d accept that role). He also was a top 50 recruit last year. Would probably cause Nico to portal though.

I get the uneasy feeling some fans are having. Seeing Indiana and a few teams sweep up players that should help them out and Illinois landing some very good talent but not the king makers yet. I believe BU has some leads on special talent and has chosen to play the waiting game on them. I’m ok with that. I know he hates losing. When he first started at Illinois he made it clear in his practices what level was expected and that hasn’t changed. I have full confidence he will get the players to keep Illini ELITE.

2nd leading scorer on a pretty good Dayton team. Good size and athleticism plus shot the ball well last year.

Not a blue chip player that's going to carry a team but a good player and if it brings DaRon Holmes then sign me up.

Would still want to add an alpha type scorer at combo guard/wing(like David Jones) with that pair but I would be very excited with that team.

Would have two all American type players in Jones and Holmes a bunch of proven role players:

Boswell, DGL, Nico(?)
David Jones, Jake Davis
Ty, Santos, White
Humrichous, Booth
Holmes, Morez, Jaksty(RS)

Maybe that's too many forwards and not enough guards but that size would cause some serious matchup problems and have a bunch of shooters and guys that can get their shot.

Great lineup but as much as it pains me to say, primarily because Ty is one of my favorites, Tre White is going to be a handful to compete against.

He averaged close to 10 points a game as a freshman at SC and made the all- freshman team.

At Louisville, what is interesting about the fan forum posts is that Tre was the only player to never quit and prayed hard, all season long. That was the consensus from the Louisville fans.

It appears that Tre is WAY better than we all realize.
