Why are we still looking at 4's when what we need is a 5 and another wing?

Sorry, just using your post as a jumping off point to comment on the broader conversation, not accusing you of anything individually.Whoa.... I am just asking if maybe there was more to the Dain situation than just minutes and money? Throwing out ideas, starting conversation, bored at work, yada, yada. Well aware it's a new world out there and we're all along for the ride and learning along with the staff. Been a fan before, during and will be after BU. Please don't attach that last sentence you stated along with one of my comments because this does not reflect me what so ever.

Toppin would be undersized as a 5, but he does have a 5 type game. A bulldog around the rim at both ends. Maybe he and Booth work together? Why are we still looking at 4's when what we need is a 5 and another wing?
If he likes bourbon, he is going to love Northern KentuckyKid never visited there ...

To state the obvious if we can get Toppin we absolutely take him - scorer rebounder shot blocker, can run the floor etc and worry about lineups laterJT Toppin - New Mexico Lobos Forward - ESPN

If I had to guess, Toppin is blueblood-bound.To state the obvious if we can get Toppin we absolutely take him - scorer rebounder shot blocker, can run the floor etc and worry about lineups later
But it does seem like we’re trying to fill out the stretch 4 column on our Bingo card given who we’re still looking at
Thanks for the good info, it's helpful in keeping things in perspective. It certainly is an interesting era!Other big spenders are even worse off right now than we are - Arkansas has like 4 players on their roster as of now, Kentucky only has like 6 players
I do like his rebound numbers, and I could see it working IF Booth is ready. Still would be ideal to have a true rim protecting big.Sorry, just using your post as a jumping off point to comment on the broader conversation, not accusing you of anything individually.
We didn't believe in Dain as a star, that's clear. Penny did. BU is a better coach than Penny, we'll see.

Dainja was leaving no matter what. He was not going to see an increase in minutes because of his limitations on defense. Goode was in the same boat. Bad defender and a one trick pony from three. Will always be an Illini, but I have a real tough time seeing this team right now and understanding how we didn't/don't have minutes for Goode or Dainja. Year isn't here and I know we're not done, but I'm just having a hard time seeing it.
I think Dain will get what he wants at Memphis. More minutes and a bag.Whoa.... I am just asking if maybe there was more to the Dain situation than just minutes and money? Battle tested four-year starter at the same program in a decent conference, 116 career games, complete skillset from the wing, can shoot it, finish with both hands, gets to the rim, very analytics-friendly shot diet.Sion James - Tulane Green Wave Guard - ESPN

At one point just before the NCAA tournament, Brad described this past season's starting lineup as a "team of fours," which was kinda true (Coleman, Quincy, Markus, Ty but not TJ). We have mostly 4's for next year so far: Booth, Rez, Ty, MAYBE Humrichous, and I guess Jakstys (to redshirt?).Why are we still looking at 4's when what we need is a 5 and another wing?
thanks!May 29th
Only thing is that Tulane was a BAD team last year. Not sure I like the strategy of getting the best players from losing programs. I liked it better when we were getting really good players from winning programs.Battle tested four-year starter at the same program in a decent conference, 116 career games, complete skillset from the wing, can shoot it, finish with both hands, gets to the rim, very analytics-friendly shot diet.
This is the best Storr Plan B I've seen in awhile, I'll keep my eye on this one.
