How do we feel about...

Boswell
Hunter Silas
David Jones
Himrichous
PJ Hall

DGL
Ty Rogers
Tre White
Booth
Morez

Davis
Jansky
I can’t really comment on that lineup because about half those guys aren’t even in the portal as of right now.

I mean everyone has been saying that. Our insiders, Steven Bardo, I think there was even some chat about it on Trilly's forum. So who knows?
I would think unlocking all the TSJ and Coleman NIL would be huge.
Everyone has been saying we don't have the NIL fans think we do? Or everyone has been saying we have a lot of NIL $?

Can't blame him if he goes - roster doesn't seem like a great fit with what we have done so far, and all of his buddies are gone at this point. Only have so many opportunities in life to chase the $$. It is what it is, I'll still be a fan. Hope he is here though.

Kansas State freshman guard Dai Dai Ames (played his HS ball in Chicago) is in the portal. Do you think there is any mutual interest between Ames and Illinois? Ames did play approximately 20 minutes per game for K State, but his numbers/stats weren't great. I wonder if he'd be willing to back up Boswell? I also wonder if he's a better option than DGL for backup PG?

Agree ... We need to lock down a 5 that Coleman can/wants to play with ... And go get an elite level wing ...

Then our sell becomes a lot easier to him ...
Wasn’t it bandied about on here that there were certain donors who would step up with whatever $ necessary to bring back Coleman (and/or Marcus) if they want to return - monies separate from the NIL pool?

If Coleman becomes inclined to take that offer, wouldn’t it leave a ton of NIL to work with for luring a primo 5 (ala PJ) to play alongside him?

I'm looking for a scapegoat. Found one: Curt Flood! He's to blame!

(Never would knock Mr. Flood, No. 21, great Cardinals' CF. I say that as a Cubs' fan who lived in St. Louis as a kid in the 60s).

Just wondering: what's to stop recruits like Fears and Morez from de-commiting? Nothing. Change of heart, like four-star Illini football OL? Or NIL? Better offer? Do high school recruits get NIL$?

Don't know. I'm an ignoramus. And kinda proud of it.

But whoever is an Illini next season, I will warm up to them, get to know them and root for them (as I did last season) even if I don't know today who they are.

Going to be a bit of a rebuild, but rebuilding years are fun
Okay, rebuilding years can be fun or that used to be. Say 1 or 2 of the new guys with more than 1 year blow up, or become a defensive savant? They gone to the highest bidder next year. There is no rebuilding only reloading. Every year a new team, don't like it. But the world has never gave a !!!! about feelings only money. I will still watch still be a fan but, but where does it go from here? Need Hef's money?

I think that its definitely on the table that he comes back to college and it isn't Illinois ...

We do not have a 5 ... Until we do ... We aren't the best situation for him ... Just is what is ...

There are already teams circling on this one ... Blue bloods ...
Well they need to get the 5 sooner rather than later.

There no reason to panic because nothing is set in stone yet. Guys we are still after haven’t committed, a whole slew of folks just entered today, and our staff (I believe) are great recruiters.

I remember loyalty underwhelmed before last year and 23-24 was the most memorable group in the past decade.

I trust Brad &Co. their eye for talent, everything well work out and the ball will still be tipped in November on a fun new season.
