Did anyone watch the Hawkins interview to see what he said?
I was looking for this exact same thing. I forgot about the interview today with Goodman. Did anyone watch that could give possibly give us a quick recap? I can't find the video anywhere.

Seems to have a decent start on his footwork and positioning but we’ll see about the latter in B1G play. Has enough length to block shots even if he needs to get Fletched. Even saw a few rim runs - he will probably have to rely on a bit of strategery to do that at this level but he seems to have enough tools to work with. Seems like a good find.
That videos also 3 years old so good chance he’s improved quite a bit in the last 3 years

Both guys are already on draft boards for 2025. Think it's just see a little bit of the American game as well as NIL
Sounds like a one year rental that is mutually beneficial.

Hawkins is gone. If he comes back to college basketball he said “I wouldn’t come back to play in the BIG, and I don’t want to take away from the new players on the Illini that aren’t expecting me to come back”

This sucks….

Lots of fun there.

Egor Demin #20, Kylan Boswell #29, AJ Storr #31, Zvonimir Ivisic #45, Tomislav Ivicic NR

That one goes really deep in rankings.

Zvonimir Ivisic #15, Egor Demin #22, AJ Storr #57, Tomislav Ivisic #58, Carey Booth #61, Kylan Boswell #74, Tre White #134, Amani Hansberry #159

Just a general idea of guys pro scouts are keeping an eye on.
Tre White will be a special player for us; more so than fans realize. Mark it, he will be all conference.

Do we have any confirmation that we are even pursuing Demin? I know that was the google search hypothetical some put out there, but we at least have confirmation now that Tomislav is one of the ones the staff is pursuing, I haven't seen that on Demin, unless I missed it
Yes we have confirmation we are pursuing him, but it is unlikely he will be coming overseas to play before he goes NBA

I also can't imagine it hurts to have their game showcased on American TV often and also playing against more "known" and scouted players, some of whom they'd likely be facing in the NBA at some point anyway, should they make it there.
Yep. There is a ton of variance in the quality of competition in Europe. Playing a year of NCAA ball will give scouts a better apples to apples comparison of how they stack up against other potential draftees.

So, I hope I'm causing any trouble for LVille by pointing this out, as the insiders have been much more tight-lipped lately, but Demin was mentioned at least once, by name.

Thank you- it sounds like we definitely are trying with Demin but may be a long shot.

We are definitely pursuing a transfer wing from
College as well

Ivisic is the leading candidate at C and very real possibility

I’m feeling much better about next year just with these three facts alone

All this "star wing" talk. There really isn't anybody even remotely close to a "star wing" currently in the transfer portal outside of Kadary imo. Are there? Just think we need to land Kadary or else we won't really have a "star wing" by any means tbh.
Honestly, I might put Egor #2 in terms of "wings" in the portal and Europe. Don't get me wrong I think the sky's the limit for that kid, and I'd love to see him play big minutes, but as a young freshman, immediately after coming in, I don't think counting on him to be THE "star wing" is that great of an idea.

3 takeaways

1. Has not ruled anything out, including a return to Illinois, did say that being in the portal gives him leverage.
2. As it relates to #1, he might feel bad for the guys we've brought in, because they are expecting he's gone.
3. He wouldn't even consider playing for another B1G school, small shot at Luke for donning the candystripes.
bonus
#4 hates Mizzou

Just curious, how many of us can say they saw this for the first time at release in a theater?
Not just saw it at release in a theatre, but at the Co-Ed Theatre on Green Street! My girlfriend and I saw it and enjoyed it, but my roommate at Weston Hall went nuts over it. He was quoting lines from it for weeks!

I haven't listened to it all, really just the first 15 minutes or so. Don't have much to add to what @Hoopster said, but I will say it's at least a relief to hear Coleman completely, unequivocally rule out going to any other school in the B1G.

Finally, if he does return to the NCAA, the likelihood of him returning to Illinois seems to heavily rest on what we do with the final couple of additions in the portal. Assuming we land our big guy here soon and leave 1 scholarship open, those final 2 will be critical.

If we spend big on those final 2 and thus land higher profile guys, it would seem to pretty much rule out Coleman returning to Illinois. (If we happen to land both Demin and a higher profile portal wing, for example - No Coleman) If we strike out with 1 or both of them, though, then maybe there's a bit more of a chance of Coleman returning, but still probably unlikely, as far as I can tell.
