Guaranteed to be played at every afterhours party back in the day.
If we are successful with Demin, it'll rank up there with the Marcus Liberty commitment in terms of hype. That is the better question. Think it comes down to $$ between us and his current team
Denim is a trip back beyond the sweet sixteen. Elite ball handler and passer with a good stroke. He's long and fluid. Not overly athletic but makes up for it with great precision and decision making. I like his game and it will translate here. He's going to be a stud and will get bigger. They’ll get Ivisic, bring back Nico, and get Wooga or Denim. That’s a top 30 team hopefully
I think the key is a quality big, and at least one quality SG (Lanier and/or Poplar would be great) who can shoot and handle. A talented wing/SF would be great, but the first two should be the priorities. Maybe Demin is quick enough and a good enough shooter and passer to be a legitimate guard?Am assuming Ivisic is effectively done, just hasn't been announced yet. VG and necessary get.
Which brings us to the key piece, an alpha wing. Don't know what's going on with Demin, but I do know that Geoff's been on him for awhile. Wooga or Richardson would be great, no idea where we stand with them.
Shouldn't be an issue against famously parsimonious [checks notes]...Real MadridThat is the better question. Think it comes down to $$ between us and his current team

They are willing to let him go, we just need to meet a certain price. Negotiating thatShouldn't be an issue against famously parsimonious [checks notes]...Real Madrid

Are we paying a transfer fee? Who is paying? Has that ever happened in college basketball before? They are willing to let him go, we just need to meet a certain price. Negotiating that
Absolutely, if we actually get him. I'm always skeptical about rumors of imminent commitments. Recruiting is fluid.Ivisic fits the bill, no?
Out of curiosity, is the money that is needed to purchase the contract coming from the Illini NIL funds or from the university athletic department funds? They are willing to let him go, we just need to meet a certain price. Negotiating that
So we went from the players not being able to get a single cent over the table to full-on world soccer, uncapped teams paying transfer fees to pro clubs, huh. Wild. Are we paying a transfer fee? Who is paying? Has that ever happened in college basketball before?
Gotta put on my soccer cap here.

When you have the chance to get a player as good as Demin, you don't worry whether he fills a position of need. We'd make it work.I think the key is a quality big, and at least one quality SG (Lanier and/or Poplar would be great) who can shoot and handle. Demin is a 5-star freshman.
But, in recent years 5-star freshmen haven't exactly impacted the game the way they used to, so expectations should be kept in check.
Totally, he'd be a big get, and I'm fascinated by the mechanics of it all.yeah, I'll take our chances with a '25 lottery kid
There's potential. And then there's potential. This guy is already projecting as a top 10 NBA draft pick on many boards. Is there a small chance the hype may not be real? Of course, but the percentages are definitely in Egor's favor.Demin is a 5-star freshman.
