So as it stands right now....DGL is our only potential 2 guard right?

QUESTION FOR SMART PEOPLE - Can Booth become CoHawk?
I watched a decent amount of tape on Booth and he plays similar to a soph-junior CoHawk though more secure with the ball. He's very similar in that while athletic and is quite successful when he's taking the ball to the rim, he opts more for a very perimeter oriented far less efficient shot, so you will as a fan see some similar, uhhh, frustrating moments. That said, Booth's ceiling is very high and if he were to mix in some more aggressive drives with some higher quality perimeter shots like CoHawk did this year he can certainly follow in similar footsteps.

I can also emphatically say Tre White isn’t a 2 and Ty isn’t going to be playing the 3.

I'm a low-key believer too, but it also has to be acknowledged that he was really bad last year, so RELYING on him to be a centerpiece of the team would introduce major downside risk into projecting next season.
He played on a bad team for sure and was inconsistent though out the year. A lot of that could stem from the lack of coaching he got this year. The kid has a lot of potential and when I am stating that he will be good. That does not necessarily mean in the short term. He is coming to the Illini to get better. Coaching staff has seen something they really like with him. No one is calling him a center piece.

Kadary Richmond absolutely projects as a better 2024-25 college basketball player, even if Demin has the much brighter pro future.

Almost a 5 year age gap between them.

Either one of them would be a home run for us though.

For sure, a lot of similarity there.

The book on Booth is that he's got a tendency to drift and disappear too much, just kinda hanging around the perimeter and not grabbing games by the scruff of the neck. But there's an NBA talent level there, and a lot of skill overlap with CoHawk.

Honestly, the correct path is to land both. That would be a really strong team after they had time to gel.

This makes me happy because we all know there's no Mor Sek in the Champaign Room :)

This is huge. The coaching staff is putting together a championship roster.
This is a major concern. Having a great roster does not equate to championships by default...but obviously a necessary place to start. What BU can accomplish in putting the pieces together will be a more challenging puzzle to solve.

Nevertheless, I think most Illini hoops fans feel far more comfortable now than they did at this time last year in that puzzle getting solved. And with possibly three more pieces to add (I am well aware there will likely be only two), who knows where expectations might wind up? What I do know is that there will be more fan interest in every non-conf. game next season....and hopefully unseen fan frenzy toward the end of the B1G race.

It's us or Real Madrid. The other two have moved on because of guys they have added/Demin wants to be a guaranteed top 3 option on a team next year if he's going to leave Spain
Add any two of him, Cam Christie and CoHawk back and call it a day?

If that's the case, how long can we wait him out before we go with another option before the cupboard is bare?

Is there an expected timeline for BU and staff? Like a date where they ultimately move on to other options?
