I understand it is Rick Pitino we are talking about, but it blows my mind St. John's can even afford the roster they have. By all means, we were referenced by multiple outlets to at least be a top-10 NIL basketball school last year, but the way these schools are spending makes me wonder about that or if we have been lapped. Throwing $1 mil plus at guys left and right.
That is, unless, they can't deliver what they are promising (and we can)..
I can't even imagine the antics of Coleman and Hurley both on the sideline
Free market is wonderful thing. I remember when Sun Times printed that Anthony Davis got $200k to go to KY. Now that all teams can bid instead of just cheating ones the players are getting much more money. Great that players are getting piece of pie. Before it was just going to the coaches.

It's about roster construction as well. We are spreading ours out among 4-6 guys instead of 2-3.
Have had the same thought, and the answer appears to be “yes.”
Heard possibly a couple weeks. Hopefully sooner but happy to wait if we can lock him up.

Fans of teams with a proud history aren't going to sit around hoping for the best when they understand they can have a direct impact on their team's salary cap. A couple big donors step up and you can get relevant again in a hurry. IMO, the scary teams are the ones who don't have football to contend with, like St John's, Marquette, and Nova.
