These kids are making mega money, so theoretically they are no longer kids. They have to make adult decisions and grow up sooner than they probably should, but that's the nature of this beast. If they are now employees, we can no longer coddle them, unfortunately, they have to grow up and be treated as such!
No. They are still kids, and they are not employees. The amount of money they make does not change their age or their development into adults lmao.

Can we let these kids be kids? I love how fans like to pretend they care about what's best for the players but in the last 24 hours we've rationalized the benefits of skipping their final prep postseasons (not to mention life events like prom, graduation, etc.) while a minority here have declared arguably the greatest program ambassador since Dee will be dead to them if he plays his bonus Covid year elsewhere.
Not saying it's the best thing for them but this has already happened.

Football players are all enrolling in the spring(also nothing says they cant still go to prom or go back for graduation). Kids are transferring high schools and going to prep basketball academies that are hardly even schools.

It's not like these kids are playing for their local high school with friends they have been playing with since they were 5 or 6.

What about a January enrollment and redshirt?

Assuming it's academically feasible and Fears really, really wants to do it, sure. But it would have to be with the understanding that Brad is not going to gift him PT. From a physical development standpoint, being in the program 5 months earlier should be very beneficial. Just being in the program early should pay dividends the following season (hit the ground running). But again, would Fears embrace a spot minutes role (at least, initially)?

The word 'kids' gets thrown around a lot when talking about college players...Coleman is older than a lot of NBA players (like my current playoff MVP, Ant). Most of these college players, save for freshmen, are definitely not kids. No reason to treat them as such.

Referring to who you replied to:
Fears -> Kid -> probably not making mega money right now
Coleman -> Definitely not a kid -> probably making mega money right now
