I don’t blame the insiders for giving us information that was accurate at the time but my goodness this is getting annoying lol. I feel like I’ve had my hopes up too many times and gotten crushed every time

Nothing is done until the ink is dry ... That's the way it's always been ...

Kids can get out of NLI nowadays as well ... So maybe even the ink being dry doesn't mean anything anymore ...

It's the wild west ... And we're dealing with 16 - 22 year old kids and parents and handlers who live vicariously through these kids ... It's crazy ...

Yeah but what about the history of abhorrent business practices? I'm definitely passing on Monsanto.

Seems like he would be real toxic to the environment that Brad is trying to cultivate.

We went after this kid in HS ... O is super tied in on this one ... If Brad wants him ... He's ours ...

ELITE level shooter ... And when he's hot ... He will give you 20 easy ...

I'd take him...but not as our alpha. But I'd take him than not.

But if Brad has made up his mind that he's gonna only take one more...then no. Think we can get someone better if it's just down to 1 spot

Nothing's settled until the students are on campus practicing, but I remain a little confused how quickly things went from "It's not about money, it's about a visa" to "The money ask is too high a hill to climb, we've moved on".

I am surprised how stressful and fluid recruiting truly is. It is different. I’m also surprised that Brad has any hair left on his head.

So what type of team are we looking at right now? About a 6 seed or so?
Right now with without any adds, we are 9 strong and deep.

There are at least five NBA future players.

Compare position to position from last year‘s team and we look to be better and that was the sixth ranked team in the country. TSJ is the outlier.

Demin was going to replace TSJ but I guarantee someone else will.

Go ILLINI

Hard to also replace Domask and Hawkins though. Their skillsets were super valuable too

All of the top tier players have had high asking prices. This isn't a surprise.

Our camp either severely mismanaged what the going rate was for some of these guys or our NIL funds aren't what we thought compared to the market value of the elite players.

In either case it's a bummer because any "elite" player bowing out of the draft is going to get a big payday at numbers that we can't get to.

If this is going to be the case going forward, we have to be WAY better at developing our prep recruits.

Another thought…. We have already signed a 21 year old European big who has been holding his own against grown men( Kaminsky, Paul, and many other good European prospects in the Adriatic league. While Demin is playing for the Real Madrid 2 in the under 18 league. Looking at his stats they are solid but nothing extraordinary . My thought is how much more is he worth than Ivisic? We have somewhat of a gauge to go by here. Is he worth 25% more? That would be generous in my mind as he is still more of a unproven commodity despite his potential. Lot of players with potential who fell on their face. Look at the NBA.
