Yeah, we talking about basketball, right?

I wasn't worried about whether he would have a hard time knowing what side of the road to drive on
We're talking about basketball, but also the transition from guys coming here and our guys going there. The basketball part is the mindless part.

Assuming that an 18 year old is going to be able to come here and his #1 concern, initially, is basketball is just just flat out shortsighted. The basketball transition and the new world transition go hand in hand. One doesn't work without the other.

2 main contributors coming from overseas and needing some time to acclimatize to a different style of basketball and a different culture.

DGL will have to beat out several other good players for minutes. If DGL is getting a lot of minutes, it’s almost certainly a good thing. I think the same can be said for just about everyone on the roster.
DGL is as hard of a worker as anyone & Brad loves him. Underestimate him at your own risk. The receipts will be here. 😆
I'm always open to player making a jump from year to year. If dgl embraces his speed on defense to be that pest and learns good shot selection then it's possible he's getting 20+ minutes next year. He has springs in his legs so that should help as well

My expectation is he plays 10 to 15 minutes next year and then takes a big leap year after that mostly because of his size. But happy for him to prove me wrong. Obviously other players blocking him from those minutes is still the default strategy I assume

Was hard to focus on any of that commentary with the background noise, however anecdotal it may be anyway (again, one guy's experience)

I just have a hard time seeing a lottery pick who is used to playing against grown men having a tough time adjusting to college game, that's all
The point was just that there are stark differences in playing styles. Whether or not a particular individual struggles to make the transition is case-specific. But there are observable differences nonetheless.

Okay, yes there are differences. I never said that there were not.

What I said was that they seem to adjust to those differences just fine.

What are we even doing here?

All this talk about Fears and reclassing.....if he graduates in December, wouldn't he be a 2025 grad? Not saying Indy was even talking about Fears, but just saying....he wouldn't be reclassing.

Right I and I'm not saying they won't adjust, just that it is likely that it will take time.

I that that's the part we disagree on. I don't think (a) it makes a ton of difference in this current ecosystem where every relevant team has 6+ new players and also (b) we are talking about a lotto pick, not Matic Vesel or Giorgi (who was a very good college player, mind you).

Seems that college BB is trending towards the free flowing, skill driven, offensive style played overseas.NBA like, look at top college teams, like say Illini and Alabama.Look at recent NBA MVP,see the trend?

You asked what the differences are. I posted a video of someone talking about the differences from first-hand experience.

Brad's teams are usually pretty good in November & December...even the disjointed squad from 2 years ago looked way ahead of schedule after that Texas win

I think as it stands right now, we are a team that will make the ncaa tournament as a 6 seed or better… I think a lot of people are seeing players for what they were last year and don’t realize that DGL will be a LOT better, Ty Rodgers will be a LOT better and the coaching staff will make sure we’re ready to win in March.
However, if we get Egor…

I didnt think international players could get NIL$ and how are the recent international players playing Pro ball over seas able to still be eligible?

Meanwhile, back in the recruiting thread…..
Bro love ...

Regarding UNC need for a big. UNC is thinking about Hawkins but it appears to me UNC needs to replace Babcot, a scorer
, rebounder and rim protector.
CH is a stretch 5 or 4 wing that can handle the ball. I am not sure CH is what UNC needs at this point.
