It’ll be matchup based. We can matchup with anyone or could force anyone to matchup to us. Small, Big, speed, D, 3 point.
I'd be fine with the 4 - 12 minute quarters but would still like to leave the shot clock at 30 for now.Or maybe just bite the bullet and switch to NBA rules, clock, and quarters with the current 3 point line intact. I wouldn't mind seeing a challenge or two as well.
I do hope Humrichous plays much better of an all-around game than what I have seen of him and his statistics indicate. Right now I see Booth as a more complete player including defensively. Right now based on what I have seen, I have Booth at 60% and Humrichous at 40% of approx. minutes. After a month of practices and some early season games, it will shake out more, on who starts and who gets higher minutes playing, it will be established then and of course matchups will have a lot to do with it too. Illini won't need to depend much on Humrichous for offense like they did Shannon and Domask. Offensive weapons are all spread out with Boswell, Demin, Ivisic, White, Humrichous, Booth, Johnson, Davis, DGL, etc. It will be a more balanced team and I don't really care who starts. Everyone will find their role and contribute and lineups will vary and change as need be, and as players's show who deserves more playing time. Still too early to make absolute calls on this IMO but it is entertaining to conjecture..Grad transfer Ben Humrichous didn’t come here to be the 6th man….
Easier for you to say it than for U.S. Department of State to do it.It's time to seperate Politics and Religion/Illinois Basketball
I hope that you are correct. He definitely can shoot. I am thinking his defense will dictate his minutes. If he can defend adequately then he will definitely get good minutes. It will be interesting to see how he adjusts to the B10.Davis will play more than people think. Kid can flat out shoot it from anywhere and doesn’t need to be set like Goode.
Because all of Boswell, Demin, Hum, and Ivisic can shoot so Rodgers doesn't necessarily have to.I'm not sure why people think Rodgers will start? Tre White is not a great shooter, but Rodgers is a non existent shooter. He doesn't even take the shot. A guy that will at least make you guard him on the perimeter that can still get to the hoop and rebound is clearly the superior player. Also White is a much better FT shooter.
Like 99.9% likely

I mean...he is our best shooter. Think he'd be a solid Goode replacement and honestly might even be an upgrade in the Goode role. Happy to have him but hope he's a bit better on D though than Goode was...Davis will play more than people think. Kid can flat out shoot it from anywhere and doesn’t need to be set like Goode.
In Soviet Russia....visa applies for you.
He’s taken more charges than anyone in the history of Indiana prep basketball. I’d say that in itself speaks volumes about his defensive abilities.I mean...he is our best shooter. Amid portal era, Calipari hints at limiting Ark. roster to '8 or 9 guys'
Calipari mulls limiting Ark. roster to '8 or 9 guys'
As he prepares for his first season at Arkansas, John Calipari said he won't stack his rosters with an abundance of talent, which was his tactic during his lengthy tenure at Kentucky.www.espn.com
Makes sense. Most teams only play 7-8 guys. What's the point of paying guys that never play and transfer at the end of the year anyway? I'd use all the rest of my scholarships on instate kids willing to play for NIL. So basically walkons with the benefit of a full scholarship.M

If you lose 2 or 3 players from your rotation, you're not going to win. The 11, 12, and 13 guys on your bench certainly aren't going to save you.I am absolutely not advocating for injuries to players.....but the first P5 coach to go into a season with 8 or 9 and ends up with 2...or even 3 guys injured (not a stretch)....and has to put in PWO's ....is going to get obliterated in the media and by fans.
And since he's headlining it...I'm totally fine watching Calipari go through it!

FWIW, their TS% was identical last year (because White's 3pt shooting was bad), and Ty got lots of offensive rebounds and more assists. That's without considering defense, matchups, balance, etc.I'm not sure why people think Rodgers will start? Tre White is not a great shooter, but Rodgers is a non existent shooter. White was actually not bad on catch and shoot 3s. He had to take a lot of tough ones off the dribble late in the shot clock because his team was so bad.FWIW, their TS% was identical last year (because White's 3pt shooting was bad), and Ty got lots of offensive rebounds and more assists.
