This isn't the be-all, end-all statistically, I was just curious as an exercise.

Domask and TSJ returned for last season with total career points scored in NCAA basketball of 1,615 and 1,449, respectively. (1,280 for Guerrier)

Our roster for next year by total career NCAA points:

Tre White - 653
Kylan Boswell - 508
Ben Humrichous - 352
Ty Rodgers - 342
Jake Davis - 297
Carey Booth - 211
Dra Gibbs-Lawhorn - 66

Total - 2,429

That's more than I thought actually, but you get the point.

Looked it up out of curiosity - Ivisic has 441 career points in the Adriatic League (3 seasons, 22-25 games per season). Not trying to take away from your point though.

Coleman isn't coming back

Our money is either going to go to someone in the combine that's pulling out or someone that is already committed. They want this done in the next two weeks, so moving on it now.
So we're going to try to either pull Jamir Watkins out of the draft, or flip Dre Davis away from Ole Miss.

Those both sound pretty longshotty to me, but the good news is both of those guys fit our need and probably project to be better college basketball players in 2024-25 than Egor Demin, whose four years of eligibility were purely hypothetical anyway.

Indy, you mentioned a transfer that committed may open the recruiting back up, what are the chances that play is Richmond? I know we were courting both he and Demin at the same time, and I was wondering if he committed to STJ when he heard Demin was close to signing with us. I know one of the insiders said it was a first come first serve with those two. Now that Demin is done, could Richmond reconsider?

Post #338 in the previous thread is what I was referring to.

They had like 5 of them.

Thankfully "Team of the Decade" is not the bar we have to hit in order to achieve success.

Nonetheless, it's not fun to be sitting here staring down the barrel of yet another offseason going by where the absolute core #1 thing we were targeting to add ends up a total miss (I hope we're not there yet, but the idea we're standing hat-in-hand outside the NBA combine doesn't inspire much confidence).

We don't have the horses as things stand, in addition to the big positional hole on the team.
I think you’ve made my point for me. Can Spencer and Karaban are good but put them on another team and no one is calling them an alpha.

Alpha denotes dominance. Look at their stats. None of them dominated the ball or scoring. Their greatness was in the depth, balance, and defensive ability.

I’m not comparing our current roster to theirs. I am disputing the fact that you need an alpha/dominant scorer.

Egor seems to have a very high ceiling and the idea that UConn is willing to spend that much only reinforces the opinion that he will be ready for the college game.

That said... Our roster has experience but nobody who averaged ~15ppg on a P5 schedule. If that is plan B here, the floor for this team is even higher than it was with Egor. I just don't see Brad and OA not adding a quality wing with size that makes this team top 3 in the B1G.

Where did BYU get $2 million from??
Talk about culture shock. Ask Jim McMahon about how much he enjoyed his time there. If he’s as good as they say, he shouldn’t be thinking about maximizing his money now. He needs to be thinking about how he can set himself up for a higher salary in the league. TV coverage brother! That will raise your draft status better than anything, Provo isn’t the best market for that.

And don't forget, Davis and Booth are still freshmen. They will be better as sophs.

Considering that he is being mocked as a lottery pick after playing overseas, I'm pretty sure he's set in that regard. Scouts will find you no matter where you play.

Donor size does matter
Yep, and until we get that mega backer it's going to be like this every year. Getting good pieces but just missing that final big piece that puts it all completely together. We'll have some good teams that make the tourney consistently, but it's gonna take that huge backer for us to go above and beyond.

I'm 50/50 asking this earnestly and tongue in cheek- we added a true point guard and a true big, how many absolute core #1 holes did we have this off season ?

We don’t have a quality SG unless DGL makes a huge leap. At tge moment we have only two legit guards on the roster.

At this point, i wish Sencire or Butler had stayed.
