Lot of conflicting info out there …

Think it’s more likely we wind up with a guy going through NBA process than Egor …

I’ve listed the guys a couple days ago … It’ll be one of them based on what I’ve gathered … And I know Brad’s preference but people read this board and I ain’t gonna hurt us in negotiations … 🤷🏻‍♂️😂

Ain’t gonna be Kaluma or Wooga …

I’ll also say … There’s a certain kid people thought was a 🔒 to follow his HC … It ain’t a lock and we’re in pursuit … 😎

Jalen Wells possibly, projected late second rounder. Not sure he will follow his coach to Stanford, former teammate Rice didn't (Indiana). Now that I've seen Wells highlights agains Arizona and ISU, I think he might be might favorite of the group. He is a true SG at 6-8, defends the other SG and plays permimeter and has handles. I like that he defends well and his hieght is problematic. On offense can take difficult shots in traffic due to his height.

I think BU could get more out of certain players especially Wells, Coward and Robinson, similiar to TSJ improvement.

I normally ride with 440. He's wrong on this. You think Self wouldn't have got Dee when he could just flat out pay him, lol?

Assuming that 6'8" Jaylen Wells drops out of the Draft, I think that he would be an excellent pickup as a shooting guard for the Illini. Thanks for the scouting report on Wells. I also think that a tall combo guard, like 6'8' freshman Kevin Patton Jr. (San Diego) or 6'8" sophomore Mike Sharavjamts (San Francisco), would be another nice transfer to Illinois.

Curious to know if the staff feels like any of the stuff that gets out has hurt them this year.

Assuming yes from your comment

I think every staff around the country feels like that ...

Washington's got to deal with a roster saying why can't I get a piece of that 2 million now ... And then you've got Louisville and Tech coaches telling their boosters that they don't wanna hear the whining when they aren't in the tourney because the boosters didn't pony up 2 million for a Mountain West kid who at best is a 12 and 5 guy in the Big Ten IMO ... But hey, welcome to CBB in 2024 ... 🤷‍♂️

If they wanna pay you 2 million, go get it kid ...

Do you think Egor stays with Real Madrid or is another school a likely destination?

If I was advising the kid ... I'd tell him to stay overseas ... 🤷‍♂️

But that's just me and most people nowadays will tell these kids whatever they want to hear so they can get their cut ... NIL "agents" are taking advantage of these kids ...

I know a kid who got into a bad deal with an agent ... He signed for $500k this offseason as a kid out of the portal ... His agent fee was 35% ... His "handlers" were the one who recommended this guy ... And I am not gonna blame the kid for not reading the contract but dang ... You would think the adults in this situation wouldn't take advantage of kids but also the "handlers" would be smart enough to get someone to read over the contract before signing it and spend a couple bucks so they can make a lot of bucks ... Absolutely insane ...

Of the top Wings that have been mentioned, there isn't one who was consistent against Power 5 teams. No TSJ in the group, even Trazarian White who put up 27 against Kentucky, lacked competiton against other Power 5 teams. Lathon has 3 solid games again Illinois, Indiana and Purdue but not much competition after that. Regarding Coward he has 7 games against Power 5 teams last year and average 11.5 pts. Miles Kelly, Wells (WSU) and Jaxon Robinson also didn't show consistency against Power 5 competiton.

But I believe all those player listed above would do well in the SG spot at Illinois. Of the group I think Lathon has the most "dog" in him, Coward might be the "swiss army knife, great teammate", Trazarain the "top scorer, alpha type", Wells the top 3 pt shooter, Robinson "similiar to Coward", Kelly "Guerrier type games"...sometimes he wows you and other times disspears.
There’s a chance we could pair up Tra White with Tre White?

Best case scenario, if we are indeed out on Egor, is to go 2/3 in the top 3 imo.

Think we need to go at least 2/5 in that 5 imo.
