When you have the talent of Fears and Morez, how much of that 4 years are you willing to waste on the beach? I want the spring redshirt. Then Fears can bring Dybansa with him and they can play together with Morez 😜
I'd be willing to waste many, many years on the beach. Just sayin'.

Totally different set of circumstances, Lathon played 0 games due to a preseason injury. Domask played 10 games at the end of the season. Southern played 26 games that year with 5 cancelled due to Covid. NCAA ruled not to count the 5 Covid games thus Domask played in more than a third of the games. 10 out of 26 as opposed to 10 out of 31. Therefore he played in more than a third of Southern’s games. This was discussed a month ago on here once the ruling came down
My understanding of the rule should count potential postseason games in the 30% rule. So Domask should be under 30% by virtue of 7 potential NCAA tournament games and 2 more conference tourney games.

Which that interpretation of the rules makes sense because in a situation where 2 players played in an identical number of games before a season ending injury where one team went to the NCAA championship which put them under the 30% threshold and the other lost in the first round putting the other guy over the 30% threshold. It wouldn't be fair to deny one players waiver because his team didn't go as far in postseason play.

Additionally, all the Ivy league kids have had waivers denied and their season was entirely cancelled.

So we’ve gone from Storr to Maddox to Jones to Egor to Kasparas to Watkins to Lathon now? We’re on plan G. Sorry for not drinking the orange kool-aid 100 percent of the time, but this is disappointing. Yeah we got a solid team and as it stands we look like 6-8 seed or so and it’s a tall task for Brad to rebuild every year, but pretty much every team has to do a rebuild like this from the portal nowadays anyway. We need a Shad Khan type backer on board to get us consistently to that upper tier since apparently money from our boosters IS the issue after all.

If we’re winning I think we have a good chance at getting him.He says he has no allegiance to any team growing up in Massachusetts. We have perfect examples of how his talents can be displayed in our offense. He will be loved by a massive national fan base.We have top notch recruiting coaches and he’s friends with Fears. We got money too..What’s not to like about ILL INI??

Only those who haven’t been pay attention think we’re on ‘plan G’

We aren't out on Watkins - he's clearly our main target at the moment and we stand as good a chance as anyone to land him - and he honestly might be the best one out of that group.

What value is there redshirting Jakstys? He’s not going to be here in year 5. There is no way. If you are going to redshirt people, you can afford to fill the whole roster.

We do need two more playmakers in my view. An instant impact guy and a high ceiling type.
I think we already have two high ceiling types in Davis and Booth. What we need is another wing like Tre White.
Lol why won't he necessarily be here in year 5? Seems unlikely in the current landscape but who knows.

Also, you have to do right by the kid. He's not going to play this year and an additional year of CBB has a tangible financial impact if he becomes a decent college player.
I think you're right. And if he's a serious student, he could earn a Masters' Degree.

Most of thee guys coming in have more than one year of eligibility left. But they're also experienced at the college level. Yes, we are rebuilding. We don't have to be afraid of the word. This is a team will grow as the season moves. Lots of potential but also a bumpy ride.

It appears players entering the portal have options. I’ve got to believe there’s more to it than $, like fit and playing time depending on who else is on the roster. Seeing the world as black and white may give us comfort, but that doesn’t mean there is no gray.

In fairness FSU was 17-16 and didn’t make the tourney.
Pretty sure you are disputing the wrong point. I was arguing against the dismissal of the OVC. My point was they had the same stats. One was considered their alpha, thus more things run for him. One was the 2nd best player on his team. Yet, regardless of conference, they had similar stats.
