Except post #1 is @Dan's, which means that post #11 is actually the #10 reply.

Davis and Booth are the mystery men imo. They are both talented for sure, but how quickly will their games develop against rugged competition. We might be sleeping on them, but BU nailed them down so quickly there's obviously something special about them.

Davis adjusting? 100%, yes. But Booth? he played in the ACC. that's pretty much on par with what he'll see for us. now, will he take a step or three up? much better question, IMO

If things don't work out with Kasparas over the next week or so...

how likely is it that we get a commitment from Will Riley and he reclasses? How much is that in play...and how much of a possibility is that if we don't land Kasparas?

Seems like we're pretty determined to add a talented 17 y/o to develop...

I definitely agree. Just with the length and athleticism that Booth possesses I could easily see him starting for other power conference schools. He's just stuck behind Humrichous here.

I hope that means he's locked in as an Illini for multiple years because the sky is the limit for him with that size and explosion.
The way that I see Booth is that he could play multiple positions and get quite a bit of playing time. 4-5 or maybe even the 3 at times.

While we're on the "de-commit watch" topic...

Is Dre Davis de-committing still a possibility?

He looked pretty good for Seton Hall this year in booty ball. Would be the perfect add booty ball wise imo. Could def. have a Marcus type impact...

Hmmm...Ok then...Thought LVille said that if we were gonna land a commitment from him it'll be in the next week...

Anyways...

We seem highly likely to add a 17 y/o developmental guy with high potential. He seems like our main target in that category currently...

If Booth had been the apple of our recruiting eye for a year+ on the trail (and he would have been if we'd pursued him, he was rated higher than Hansberry), and he'd had the exact same freshman year in an Illini uniform, we'd be falling all over ourselves projecting him to explode into All-American status.

The Humrichous porridge is too hot, but the Booth porridge is too cold.

And at least this once, ChiefGritty is just right.

we are truly in business if we can get him

will be interesting to see what happens when multiple high major somewhat desperate programs come at him with blank checks

and also would make for an interesting subplot if we were to steal him away from chester’s new program
Concerning thing to me is when this bleeds over to prep commits. Why would early commits like Fears keep their word when this happens? Surely that phase will start almost immediately following portal madness.

Honestly think that's one of the main benefits of Fears enrolling in January and redshirting.

Yes, he gets to spend 5-6 extra months practicing with college players, learn the system, and work with Fletch but he also would be subject to the transfer portal deadlines.

Nobody would be able to come in late and get him to change his mind. If he's not enrolled then he could decommit after the transfer portal deadline has ended and I think up until the fall semester.
