This video looks like it was thrown together in 3 minutes and it probably was. It is clear they have done no research on KJ but wanted to put something up for the Illini clicks. KJ has more than held his own in head to heads vs Egor.
There is 0 downside for them to undersell here. They know damn well Illini nation will come in troves to rub it in should this team outperform their expectations.

Strange commitment - program just lost head coach and most of its players. New BYU HC Kevin Young has only 2 years college coaching experience as an assistant (Oxford College and Uta Valley) then 10 years as g-league coach and 7 years as NBA assistant. He has interviewed for NBA HC jobs. Would make more sense if he was going to Gonzaga or Arizona. A lot of NIL$?

Tough day for KJ! He went from 6'6" to 6'4" in one hour! All (bad) jokes aside, glad he is joining the orange and blue. Go Illini!

Boswell>Ty
Kasparas<<<TJ
Tre<<<Domask
Humrichous>Quincy
Ivisic<<Coleman

DGL<Harmon
Jake<<Luke
Ty>>Nico
Booth>Amani
Morez<Dain
My take,
Boswell >>> Ty
KJ <<< TSJ
Tre << Domask
Humr>> Quincy
Ivisic<< Coleman
DGL>Harmon
Jake<Luke
Ty>>>Nico
Booth = Amani
Morez>Dain

I could see Morez starting over Ivisic.
Worse starters, better bench.
5th or 6th in BigTen, Lose in second round of NCAA Tourney.

Not gonna happen but I'd love a lineup of:
Bos
KJ
Hum
Morez
Ivisic
Bos and KJ would keep those bigs so well fed

Seeing this transformation in just one month makes me wonder whether — and we’ll never truly know the answer — Podz would’ve made the jump he did at Santa Clara had he started there vs going to Illinois for a year, sitting the bench, and getting Fletched. The work Fletch does is phenomenal and he is one guy who we can’t afford to lose.

I know I've expressed more caution than optimism during this recruiting period, but a decent part of that was playing devil's advocate to the most optimistic popular opinions, not that I thought our outlook was bad. So in an attempt to keep my name off any receipts, I'll say this:

I think BU and the staff have done very well. I admit I was disappointed that we seemed to miss out on various star players (not that I wanted Storr, but I did want some others), but we ended up with several high-ceiling guys, and we might be better off with that rather than having all our NIL funds in one or two guys who could flop for whatever reason or get hurt. I probably see a lower floor on some guys than the majority of you, but we probably have enough options to navigate a couple underperformers (or injuries).

So altogether, I think there's a pretty wide variance in what could happen, and I'm excited to see it play out.
