Looks like we're out on Jasper...sadly...
but goodness was this coaching change a downgrade in terms of recruiting...
At first I thought both of these were locks and at the very, very least they would get one of them. They quite really might not land a single top 50 guy in this '25 class...and the trend does not make it seem like that the next class (or classes) will look so great either...

You might want to specify that you are probably referring to UK because the post makes it seem like you might be unhappy with our coaching staff at first.

Hards times in KY. Went from having one of best recruiters in history of college basketball and top recruiting staff to just another coach.
Pope was a reasonably good college coach at BYU (mid major till last year). Just because he was ex player does not make him the right choice.
KY AD screwed up this hire big time.

At first, really wanted it to be between us and Pope for Jasper (throw in BAY as well)...if that ended up being the case, we probably have him, despite him only being 20 min. away from their campus...just a little bit different scenery from the KY from just a few months ago lol. But Bama and UNC scooped in - if those are indeed the top 2 - and their offer/sell for whatever reason - can't exactly pinpoint why - seems to be a lot more intriguing to him than ours.
Can they live with getting no five stars? And more so...literally seeing their boy in a Bama uniform in the SEC? Can they live with it? Uhhhhh...I wouldn't bet so...
Def. looking like Pope is the leading candidate to be the next one and done to come out of Lexington...
